I'm just looking to get some information on where I can go to get started. I'm at Yokota and although I have made a few friends, not many of them are knowledgeable about local tracks. Is there anything closer than Ebisu or Nikko? Something I can do regularly on the weekends? I have been going to the mountains but going to a track and driving care-free would be awesome.

you should hit up the forums at ZeroYon. They do a lot of meets/drift and you can get a lot of information from them.

Nikki is close
Hinjyo is closer
Mobara is only a couple hours

Buy a drift tengoku and go at it.
