rally-x

I just participated in my first rally-x on Sunday. It was fantastic. I think I did really well in my new Celica. My fastest time of 1:03 was only slightly slower then the fastest time of the day 1:00. Also, my other times weren't bad. The fastest time was set in a rally prepared car and mine was in stock class, so I may have had the fastest time in my class, I'll have to wait for the results which should be out soon. There was also a 240 there, he had rally tires and new suspension and seemed very fast. Didn't catch any times though. I just had snow tires, but they were better then all-seasons in the mud. rally-x is pretty fun and the 240 is not a bad car for it. Anybody else participated in any rallies?

no big roosts because it's awd and the ground was pretty wet since it rained a little during the day.

I've done a few of them now, its alot more fun than regular autoX.

Haven't had anything break.... Its (obviously) a little tougher on your shocks and lowered cars might bottom out. My car is more or less stock, and I haven't had any problems.

Things that will help: Tires with tread, LSD..... I have neither of those. My last event before I left for the summer, I had bald all seasons and an open diff, I don't think there was a moment the tires weren't spinning the entire course

Rallycross is unique, because you can apply some "drifting" techniques, but it is also a timed competitive event.

Go out there and have fun,

-Matt
