93 S13 convertible, removable hard top build

Hello, new to the forum. Thought I would show the progress on my s13 convertible build.

My background: I'm 20 years old, and I am a Tig welder/fabricator in the semiconductor and aerospace industry's.

A buddy of mine had this customer car at his shop for a while that wasn't getting any work done. A 93 240sx convertible with a snapped soft top frame. The customer decided to sell it and my buddy knew I was looking for another convertible, So I went to the shop and drove it home for $850!

It looks like somebody might have forgot to latch the top and it flew open, the whole frame was snapped and not worth repairing the cast aluminum in my opinion.

So with no top and the rainy season about to hit, I went and picked up a coupe roof another buddy of mine cut off a wrecked car.

so project removable hardtop begins!

A buddy of mine is lending a hand with this project, we have about 40 hours into it so far.

The roof is almost all fitted up, it's ready for a rear window. Then we need to trim the front edge and roll it over for a factory look. We retained the factory soft top mounting plate and latches for sealing the front.

Here are some pics of the progress so far! Getting really close to prep and paint time!

and here it is awaiting a rear window, trim pieces and prep work!

Also here is my 510 wagon, my daily driver.

I picked up a rear window and all the needed seals and trim pieces from a coupe for $80 the other day.

The window is just sitting in the top right now, going to seal it in here soon!

Almost time for the road!
