S14 Kouki FMIC W/ Factory Fogs
Hi,
I have been researching how to do a factory fog light and FMIC combo on my S14 Kouki. I noticed everyone that has an image of it done cleanly has the same intercooler. Here are some links with pics. This realy clean 200sx has the normal size intercooler I see and it retained its factory fogs. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/2...-kit-for-sale/ Spooled240 has something similar that you can see in his fog light write up here. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/s14...ht-switch.html This Build for some ebay store has the same intercooler and again appears to have retained its factory fogs. http://dragint.com/2014/06/28/240sx-...turbo-5-speed/ During my search for info I realized some people mention custom piping and Im fine with custom piping as long as I dont have to cut supports on the car. Others mention swept back fittings on the intercooler, I imagine these intercoolers from the links "may" have these swept back fittings for the piping. Can anyone check these links and tell me what intercooler this is? Specificaly what dimension and if possible maker? It would also be helpful to know what the power limit of this intercooler is as it looks fairly small. Thanks, Alex R. |

Sorry I don't know the details of the IC in the pictures, but here is my shot at helping. You are probably going to have the best time doing one of these two:
1. Cut supports for the headlights and trunk latch to make room for the IC behind the bumper support. I did this on my car and I like how it fits. I have Zenki and no fogs, so I don't know what challenge it presents. 2. Go with a High Mount IC like the PBM variety. I personally think the HMIC is the best set up for an S14. A huge FMIC is usually overkill and with all of the piping it makes for slow throttle response. The major downside is you can't have AC with the HMIC. |

it' going to need some serious customization to make it work.
