Anyone paint the frame around the 3rd brake light?
I was just looking at it and thinking I should paint it red (to match my red car). Anyone have a pic painted to match the body? It looks like it just comes off? No sure. Maybe I'll do it tomarow. Pics anyone?

Painted body color, modified from red to clear, retrofitted to LED.. all available on my site. Here is what it looks like:
I ended up painting the entire back end giving it the appearance you see in the last image, got tired of everyone having the same damn 96-98 tail lights.. needed something more unique. Last edited by old_s13; 09-08-2003 at 10:06 AM.. |

Jenne, its a good thing you are in Ohio, the last thing I need to see is a girl trying to hump my crappy 13 year old car. Hence, the reason my car will never go to ANY car show.. F-TREND!
If you want to pay me a compliment, you are more than welcome to coming out to LA and humping me. ps: I just realized, if our cars had sex they'de have jungle fever! RESPECT! |

Dang Mike, thats you got a nice house. Or did you just pull up into some nice neighborhood and start taking pics of your car there?
Anyway, have you ever tried clearing Kouki tail lights? I am just curious to see how they might look. |

1) I am 25, not 55. 2) I live in LA, a house like that would cost over a million dollars. 3) I didnt randomly pull over somewhere, my friend lives on that street. I just decided to take a random pic of my car since the car was clean and the lighting was nice. Anyway, have you ever tried clearing Kouki tail lights? I am just curious to see how they might look. I stumbled on this image years ago, always wondered if it was real or not.. but I believe it is, since Oneline used to make products for the 240SX way back when (last I recall, they're products are NLA). For those of you who wonder what MY personal taste on cars is, here is an example of one of my absolute favorite S13's ever.. EVER: Calm - Clean - Collect -//- this is what a proper S13 should look like. (Oh and dont ask, that Sealazone lip wing is next to near impossible to find.. I believe its out of production too.) Seriously folks, look at the difference between these two cars.. one has a stupid big factory spoiler which does nothing other than interfere with your rear field of vision, the other just looks like it was BORN with that wing. Everything about the blue car looks good, everything about the silvery car looks trendy. ps: To answer your question, it is literally impossible to see clear tail lights for the S13 96-98 tails. The ONLY way these will be available is if someone decides to injection mold them, which is rediculous considering the costs vs the amount of 96-98 tails available. People manufacturer aftermarket parts based on demand, there is CLEARLY (hehe literally) no demand for these lights. Any company that would ever take on such a development would turn into a complete financial LOSS. - Mike Last edited by old_s13; 09-08-2003 at 11:24 AM.. |

But Mike, it’s so clean. And I like the champagne color. A LOT.
I think that blue (tell me that’s aftermarket color) is super clean, but I don’t really feel the wheels that much. I think they’re too complicated, in my humble opinion. Fine, the next time I’m in LA, I’ll holla. In the meantime, word to the JF. |

I love the look of that mini lip spoiler on the blue fastback, very simple and clean. Some u.s company needs to come up with such a design. As for the center piece, it looks good painted, but i actually prefer the center panel left black.

Careful what you wish for, oh model-queen. Dont be surprised if your country lovin black s13 hooks up with my big city s13. Next thing you know, your car catches feelings and will want to move to LA. What will you do then? Oh yeah, and next time you're in LA, I'ma make you holla for a dolla n' do something strange for a piece of change.. haha! In the meantime, word to the JF. |

Some people say my car looked best with the unpainted tail lights and the painted center panel. Some people say my car looks better now with the painted tail lights. I tend to like both setups.. I just like the painted look more since no one has that and it kinda defines the car a bit more, gives the circles a much more distinct look.. definately more ferrari-esque. I am actually almost done upgrading my tail lights (again), this will be the 8th time I've probably tinkered with the lights in the back of my car. Sometimes there's just NO end to these projects.. - Mike |

Yeah i guess it depends on what color your car is whether the center peice should be painted or not. Its personal prefer also. I actually like the C-west kouki lights that are smoked i think. The little c-west lip spoiler is not bad either. Since that sealazone spoiler is impossible to get, this isnt a bad alternative. Its not as nice though but oh well.

Will you guys modify kouki tails which weren't bought from you. For example if I wanted the dual LED package could I send you my kouki tails and have it done for the same price?

cheap s13 owner?
You go and paint that center peice, and I'll do it my way. By the way- No need for me to be cheap. I work at a body shop and paint my car for free anyday. Everyone's taste is different |
