The retrofit source made my GS300!!!

So I've always wanted some cool ass retro-fitted projectors for my GS but couldn't afford them. I said screw it and did it myself.

needed tools... so I got.
  • heat gun
  • gloves for the hot stuff
  • plastic clamps
  • BIG box ( you'll know later )
  • screw drivers and 10mm socket.
  • sand paper ( 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit )
  • PlastX for polishing.
Things I bought from The Retrofit source: BTW their customer service kicks ass! Their products are amazing!!!!

  • Morimoto H1 mini projectors
  • Iris shrouds
  • their hubcentric shroud rings

I read many how-to's so I got the idea. I knew before I did anything I needed to clean these damn headlights! I don't actually have a picture ironically enough of my headlights before but in this picture you can see the fog light which is very oxidized, as well as all the deposits coming off of the headlight I'm sanding, YUK!

cool..next I took them off. Didnt take pictures of that since its a car with headlights off.

Then i grabed a big cardboard box and cut a 3" diameter hole in it at the bottom corner. I put the headlights in there (one at a time ) and then shoved the end of the heat gun in the hole to simulate an over..YES it works. NO there is no fire.

^^^watch this for the whole thing!

I then separated.

wasn't the most fun thing, but it is it what it is.

Next I grabbed My morimoto mini h1 projector and shoved her in then tightened the nut!

we then installed the hubcentric rings and plast the IRis shroud over it! looks sweet

After that, reinstalled everything using the plastic clamps and our oven to soften the gasket material up, and with a final good press...magic!

whatcha think!!?!?!

Looks good. The polishing in the pictures looks a bit dull though. Maybe its just the picture quality, but try and get those things mint and i think it will look way better!

I've been wanting to do something like this to my GS, but I'm scared I'll fuck something up and not have a daily to get to work/school...
