idle problem in the morning
engine sr20 blacktop s13 stock.
i try to start it starts smoothly but i figured light black smoke comes from my muffler, then when im boosting and rpm wont go higher from 3500-4000 and starts to bogging and acting funny. and when on traffic light i push clutch all way in the idle went very low almost stalling i havent check anything bc too busy work but im assuming my maf sensor is the problem bc i just cleaned it with maf cleaner from autozone. and my car gets sucky mpg about 16 mpg..is that normal for stock sr?? i did search but im not sure about bumping old thread or open this one so please leave neg comment behind.any help would appreciated guys |

it could be your maf which could cause the black smoke if the maf wasnt reading right causing it to send higher voltage to the pcm. so your pcm would think your getting a lot more air then you really are causing your injectors to stay on longer and your car would run richer which would cause the black smoke. you would think your o2 would catch it. does this only happen during warm up and goes away when the engine is at operating tempature
