You could have always post in here, this thread just asks what your ride height on your daily is, never said anything about it having to be slammed.

17x8 2 20mm spacers idk effective offset lots of neg camber. 17x9 rear +12 0 camber. The rear won't go any lower. Fortuner Auto Coilovers 12k 10k. The rear has no collars and the mount is threaded up as far as possible. Can I get the shorter 10k Swift springs without risking blowing the dampener since that would have the same effect as cutting springs? |

Get in touch with fortune and see if they can send you shorter shocks for the rear. I know they can shorten the fronts, idk if the rear is already the shortest body they offer, though. I know they must be fucking around with super-short dampers, though, they posted a pic on FB today of some shit they ordered for an E36 application they're working on:

ive gone through 2 sets of struts in 5 months... i made the mistake of thinking that the kyb GR2's and the tokiko blues's worked with lowering springs.. turns out they r just a replacement for the oem's... -__- money lost, lesson learned...

How am i fucking up the dampener already when the springs and seats are pre loaded to fortune specifications just as they came out of the box? Only thing I did was remove the locking collars and thread the bottom mount up as far as possible. So the only way I could go lower is with shorter shock bodies or if i droop with swift 10k's which are shorter.

most dampners work with collars in. When you remove them, it's like having a fat kid sit in your trunk. Not saying it wont' help, there is just that much less room for the dampner to move around. Same with putting shorter spring, there is now less room in the compressed housing= more pressure per square inch. Tends to blow the seals faster. Just like the kid above with tokiko blues....they are designed at x ride height, you remove some of that, you put extra stress on the dampner. |

The spring seat is still in the same spot on the dampener as it was when it came pre loaded from fortune. I understand what you mean but that is not the case yet with mine as i have not moved the seat from the original place. I simply removed locking collars to be able to thread the lower mount farther up the shock body to where it is now unable to go any farther. Thus I cannot go any lower. What I dont understand is i have seen other cars on fortune coilovers much lower in the rear... The location of the lower mount on the shock body has no effect on the travel of the shock.
