I like how they are going back to the LT designation. Rednecks will be massively confused in years to come.

I would say if these engines get cheaper i would look into this v8 swap, i mean i would get same gas mileage as my tired KA24E with tons more power. I'm in for updates.

i found out the cheapest way for me too go where i live due too hardly any wrecked vettes, gtos, camaro's, but a gmc envoy has a aluminum 5.3 there about $900, where as a truck iron block 5.3 is $600 but still thats cheap! in my opinion the only way too go if your doing a swap and have a little cash too work with. you cant beat nearly 30mpg and 400hp my ka gets maybe 22 on the highway and 17 in town and its slowwww.

A 5.3L is not exactly cheaper.

The Oil Pan, Intake, exhaust and accessories are utterly worthless in 99.9% of applications. These items will add up to $1000 easily.

The 5.3L makes a great core, and will take boost like no tomorrow, but it's not the smoking gun for a cheap swap. You'll also still need to source a T56 or TKO, both options are also not cheap.

I think it's great. I look forward to the 100 dollar engine days at Harry's Race Pull it Parts, 5.3's are a dime a dozen!
