Agree, 2JZGTE / 1JZGTE / RB25DET / RB26DET
A LSX would be cool as well. Looking at JZ and RB powered Z32's then looking back at the VG Z32's make you

I think an LSx would be an amazing replacement for that heavy ass chunk of iron in the bay...

Last I knew LS's required messing with the firewall a bit, Saw it in SCC 3 or 4 years ago, back when swaps weren't popular.

I have a LSx (LQ4) mated to a stock TT transmission and didn't have to cut the firewall. The reason why most have to is that the T56 bellhousing is a monster.
The swap itself was actually pretty cheap when all was said and done. I ended up selling a bunch of my TT parts and almost broke even on the swap. You can find 5.3s in almost any junkyard for peanuts. I know most will say the iron block motors are heavy but I think they are in the ball park of something like 80lbs lighter than a fully dressed VG30DEtt. |

There was one attempt at a VK56 swap a few years ago, but was never finished. I believe he went for an LSX swap in the end. With the VK slowly starting to gain momentum, I'm sure one will pop up.

There's a shop here in Newark that did a Rb26 swap and made it AWD... A nice swap to would be a nismo 350/370z motor high compression

There's a company in Canada that has done the VQ swap into the Z32 and offer a kit to do it. I believe they were called Anothershade Customs, but I have no idea if they're still around.

My opinion is biased, and this is the proper way to "do up" a Z32.
Although a v8 would be nice also, VH45/vk56....ferk that american stuff. cross breed cars can suck it.

JZ series>Rb series.
You mentioned price. Pony for dollar, JZ shits all over rb. Edit: But rb's are still sweet engines. I dont hate them. Just thought i'd add that. Just saying if money is an object here you're better off going with a 2.5L/3.0L jz swap. No oiling mods, oil pump whatever, paying $4k for an rb26 with rb25 rwd box....etc..... Then having to convert to a single or upgraded twins because you probably wont be happy with stock output on stock twins..... IMO, JZ is less headache when you're shooting for good power.

Once my Rb swap is done I'm gonna start providing the service of doing RB swaps into the Z32's.. Mounts, cross members, tranny mounts, wiring..etc I'm pretty sure there will be a good crowd after the Rb swap once they see how simple it is to do I'm guessing you're referring to my pics? As far as the work, I did it all by myself. How much? Vg ~5k Rb so far ~$50 <-LOL YEAH $50 BUCKS

Get a feel for them and their product, buy from where you feel most comfortable with, first impressions will tell you how they do business. And of course check the engines thoroughly, bring a frriend that knows what to look at/for. I know there's a few places around your area. [QUOTE=fast-datsun;4600019]Interesting, Looking forward to seeing more of this.
