Exclamation !!!--Need Help With My Engine Swap--!!!

About a year ago I did an engine swap out of my 90 240sx, with a 95 240sx engine. As you probably already know some of the wires don't plug in, so some splicing of wires from the 90 and the 95 wire harnesses were needed and now it's a total mess. I still have the old engine, but I would rather keep the 95 engine and get my car running. Any advice is welcomed, and if anybody has been in this situation or can fix this problem I would be more than happy to pay the person to get my car running. It's a great car and I don't want it to go to waste. I live in NORTHERN CALIFORNIA near STOCKTON. Please Help!!!

Can you be more specific on which wires you needed to splice, and what happened? I can try and help you out, but I really need details.

I didn't splice the wires, a friend did. He spliced the wires from the 90 240 main harness with the 95 240's engine harness, it's been over a month and he is still working on it. He says that orginally he forgot to hook up 3 wires and he thinks that one of the wires were to the egnition. I'm looking for an easier and faster solution to getting my car running.

dont let ur friends work on ur car, thats my easy fast solution. but just my opinion. hope you can get it figured out. you may need to get new harnesses and start over or get a pin out diagram or some sort of wiring diagram so that you know what wires are which.

are you talking about the wires next to the ecu going up into the dash? is that the splicing?

You shouldn't have had to any splicing except for the dash connector.

When installing a different engine, you should use that engine's harness, so instead of hacking up both it would have been more ideal to use the 95 harness and ECU, then the only thing different is the dash connector, and the leads by the battery (forgot it was a 90).

The guy basically took the wires from the 95 engine and spliced the wires onto the 90 harness that goes throw the dash and into the ECU. And I believe we're using the ECU off of the 95. Like I said before if anybody thinks they can fix it I would gladly pay, I am too busy with work and school, but I would really like to get it running, I just don't have the knowlage.
