Dual shroud fan setup?
Interested in doing a electric fan setup.
I'm wondering why they do all this fancy wiring for it. Couldn't you just wire it to a switched 12v? I read somewhere that it puts an unwanted load constantly on the charging system but they're just fans whats the big deal? |

Seriously, no big deal running the fans all the time, just uses power as stated, its not like they're gonna be running with the key off...... Or fan controller, I have the cool circuit sports one that has like a digital temp gauge that you can read in cab |

Delays warm up
Forget to leave them on and your battery dies Potential fire hazard

The warm up thing is understandable I guess. But if it's switched to the 12v they'd shut off as soon as you turn your car off. And you could just run a inline fuse with the power wires for preventable fire hazard. I guess I was just expecting someone to say the fans run better or something with the relays and stuff oh well. |

You run a 12v switched relay with a fuse... that is the proper way to wire them on all the time. (key on/fan on)
The best way is to run a fan controller with temp sensor to turn on the fans after warming the car up and turning them off before it is too cool.

for sure, especially if its a daily. If you drove it only on the track, I would say just wire em up.
delayed warm up is kinda a pain in itself, but also increases the amount of carbon buildup in the engine, similarly to if you run your car without a thermostat. |
