i will moderate for free...
This place seems to be in a bit of a mess lately and I would like to get it runnjng more smoothly again. I would like to moderate the wtb section and I can do all the classifieds but wtb seems the worst. I have sent messages countless tkmes to current admin with no response. What do I have to do to be able to jump jn and help. No power trip here, just someone who wishes to donate his time.

I do agree we need more mods since there has been way to much spam, but I am sure their are more qualified people here to do so that have been more active on zilvia then you. I am not holding anything against you op.

' hahahaha ' is not a comment it's a post whore attempt..
Keep it up an see what happens We are not getting paid to do this, we do it for free.. We have a certain love for these cars and we were selected to do this.. If you ask, there is a big chance you will not be selected. We watch and look for who ' WE ', in our collective opinion, would be good moderators... Spelling is a strong requirement. |

I waited to see if anyone else might say anything on this, but…
Literally every time in the history of web forums, anyone who volunteered that they would be a great choice as a moderator has panned out to not be that. Knowing this, we have not – as long as I was a moderator for 5 years and Admin for the past two – taken volunteers for moderators. Trust, we watch the forum, watch the members and talk to one another, then there is a process. 1 – “hey, I think [user] might be a decent moderator” 2 – (everyone else on staff) “that is a good idea!” or…. “I don’t think he/she would be very good, here’s why…” 3 – we promote said user to work a certain subforum for a while, and if their grasp of the application of the rules and avoidance of reading more into the power they think they have, we promote them on to full-on moderator. With that in mind, we have not had one of those conversations come up in quite a while now, and I am frankly unsure WHO I would consider from the current crop of members. Furthermore, I am not sure how much you think ZIlvia makes, but hardware/software/maintenance and bandwidth are NOT cheap. Like most forums, moderator here is not a paid position, simply something undertaken in the spare time of a person who legitimately wants to see the forum run as smoothly as he can help it to run.
