I was wondering if it was as much of a pain in the ass to use for grociery getting as it sounds and if I could is my own shift knob on it. They seem to go for pretty cheap on YJA so I figure I might score one.

dont knwo about your shift knob
but its not that bad to Drive with its just like using a normal shifter, except its ONLY forward and back, you still use your clutch and stuff like normal

Yeah, I was under the impression you have to shift twice from what I read on their website.. It was saying like you shift once to move the drum down and then again to move it to the side...

Hmmm might look into it.. I just didn't care for the thought of having to shift 4 dozen times to get into nuetral at a light..

I have no problems with it but yes it does suck for daily driving traffic but if you're just crusing around it's not bad. It does sit high in the chassis.

I just realised you were talking about the Stillway 0-400 shifter I have... Yeah, you drop the lock collar and it will function as a normal shifter.. Pull the lock collar up and into place and it will lock it out so that all you need to do is push up or down and it will go into the next gear.. More to it then that but that's it in a nutshell.. I've been contemplating selling mine but it really is a gorgeous shifter.. I might get a OS gearset and try the Ikeya shifter thing out... |
