Here's my breakdown
Gas: $100 a month Insurance: $0 woohoo! parents pay it for now... Payments: $150 a month Total: $250 Per month just to keep it on the road. Not including the $25 every 2 months I spend on oil/oil filter, misc cleaning stuff, or any other general maintenance stuff I do. Don't include how much you spend on aftermarket modifications or car accidents this is an average...

I paid for the car in cash and for the engine in cash. Now its just insurance $65/month But if you include the amount of money I spend on upgrades it gets closer to $200-$300/month

It sure is nice to only have to drive my 240SX on the weekends.. of course I drive my GTI every weekday..
$0 payment $54 insurance $15 gas It's never needed a repair, oil change and fluid check every 6mo. or so... Very cheap car to own as a second "fun car". By virtue of being a daily driver, and more expensive to start with, and fully insured, the GTI costs about four times as much to operate. |

Try moving to the bay area, I know one place where I can get it for 1.55, that's the cheapest I could find.

I can't wait to find a job in socal...cheaper gas, cheaper insurance, more 240s. Woohoo! |
