s14 paint help (primer)

ok so im getting another s14 but it looks like a pack of starburst its got like 4 different shades so i decided i am going to primer it but have no experience in car painting what so ever i was gonna get a sealey HVLP spray gun with a small electric compressor for 100 off ebay and as far as paint im not sure i heard dupont is good can you guys guide me in the right direction im trying to keep it under 200 dollars including a sanding gun

1. make sure your compressor is large enough to power the gun
2.Primer is thick, there are guns made spicifically for primer, these are different than normal hvlp paint guns.
3.why primer? just paint the thing, its the same amount of work, and your car will look much better.
4.if you do decide to paint it a lighter color, you will still need primer, but they sell commercial grade auto primer in a rattle can, the stuff i use is made by SEM
