Speed sensor >.<

So i have a 95 s14 and the speedometer doesnt work. From previous owner he told me there isnt one, so i figured id go and buy one. Ive looked all over and seems like half the people say any s14 sensor will work then some say has to be 95 only since the plugs are different. Others say it has to match your cluster which would be 95 base model, se wouldnt work as well... So ive been looking through FS threads and craigslist and partouts EVERYWHERE and nobody seems to have a 95 speedometer. I found at autozone
PN SU5438 a 95 one, but doesnt look like any other the other speedsensors ive seen. Can somebody please put me out of this confusion please!!!!!!!

Any S14 speed sensor should work. Thats assuming you're using an S14 lower harness. Even an S13 sensor will work, just the plugs are different where the S13 has a pigtail instead of a plug on an S14.

You need the gear too.
You can buy the gear separately from the dealer too.

except that your speedometer will be off by a factor of two, sure it'll work
and fyi, the speed sensors most auto stores will try to sell you as an s14 one are actually s13 ones
dealer is the only place to buy them new

I have no clue on how to wire that kind of stuff, i do know the plugs are different tho. Just buy a speed sensor that matches your cluster. If you have a s13 with s14 sr then get a s13 sensor and it should work
