LHD Canadian model s14 Silvia?
So I'm looking at an s14 and the guy says it's a LHD Canadian model Silvia. Is this an actual Silvia or is the guy just blowing smoke up my chi-chi's? Did Nissan ever make any LHD s14 Silvias? Thanks from a Nissan noob. And if I'm in the wrong forum or there's a designated thread for this my bad!

Yes there are S14 Silvia's that came factory LHD, think European countries with LHD cars. Now as far as being a Canadian model, that is false. Canada got the S14 240sx just like the United States did.
edit: I believe in Europe it was called the Nissan 200sx.

You are correct on that one, KiLLeR. European-spec models were badged as 200SXs (even the S13s that all got CA18s, lol). I'd love an S14a 200SX, of course they got a bunch of little tidbits that USDM models never got.

seller is a douche
the car is low buck im going to say that the car has had some collision repair with all that aero. a clean s14 wouldnt need all that body kit junk strapped to it. car just doesnt look right, something doesnt sit well with me. ide take a stock 240 that hasnt been fucked with ANY DAY over that heap. unfortunately, his photos and description are too vague so i cant nit pick the car to death. |

^^^Sounds more like the guy bought this car and doesnt really know whats in it. Shit, you built the car, even paid for somebody to put the car together for you, you'd know what turbo is in it if you know how much power it put down. Also, a single walbro pump pushing that much HP?
But yah, that molded sideskirts...is it 1990 again? |

Well, if you think its worth it then go for it. Ultimately its gonna come down to this...it's your money, spend it as you like. We can only point out stuff that would raise red flags to us if we were the ones buying it. Remember, you can polish a turd but it's still going to be a turd. Last thing I'd want to do is drop that much money on a car that blows up in a month. Owner who seems clueless or lying to me would make me very hesitant to drop $12K on a car. Also, 540whp at 14 psi on that turbo seems like a big bullshit.
This one would be a dice roll for me. I'd do a full compression test on the engine, check turbo for shaft play, hopefully he has an oil pressure gauge to give me the warm fuzzy on it. Then you do the usual body do over...check the frame rails, wheel wells, trunk (just below the rear glass) and under windshield cowl for rust. If it has sun-roof, check the glass trim for cracking and make sure the glass slides smoothly. |
