I'm not sure where you guys are getting this "$2000 rims" figure from.

That's for Volks, Works (multipiece), AME, etc yes, but only a FEW (and I mean a few %) have those kinda wheels on here.

Most everyone else (including myself), runs quality stuff that is $1500 or less, like Emotion CR Kai, XD9, XT7 or Gram Lights 57 Max.

Also, the rationale of "I'm not putting $2000 rims on a $1500 car" makes sense, but a lot of the people running $2000 rims don't have a $1500 car anymore (since it's modified).

Just run what your budget can handle. This argument is going in circles.

Two sides, that will never see eye to eye. Nothing wrong with that, but this thread could go forever.

Good point, I wish I could buy $1000 wheels, but I go to school, and own a house, and work full time. And if I didnt have my car or my girlfriend to keep me sane I would shoot myself. So just because I dont have the money to spend on the high quality stuff dosent mean I am not addicted to modifying my car, even if that means I have to be on edge with money so be it, I will buy what I can, wether it be sportmax or not.

Personally who really cares? I like what I like you like what you like. I envy you for being able to buy $1000 wheels, but just because I cant buy $1000 wheels, does that mean I should just give up on the modifying car thing that i enjoy doing?

The real question here is who drinks cheap beer and who drinks expensive wine? The wine may make you look better but in the end everyone gets drunk

the only reason i'm runnig sportmax is becuase i'm too lazy to get a 5lug swap, and sportmax had the "best" setup for 4 lugs... and plus i can brag that i got the last set of silver 962 in 18s staggered...

to add to what Logan is saying , also consider....

if you cant afford 1500-3000 dollar wheels,and you onyl have 800, consider buying a non-gravity cast wheel, maybe something pressure cast like a gramlight.... or buy a used set of 16 inch te37s or something, bigger isnt always better... fuck, 16 inch TE's are like 400 a piece... which (if you are modifting a car) should be within reach, and 16 inch gramlights are liek 250 a piece....

Jesus Christ, who cares. Neither wheel makes you a better drifter, driver, or helps you out with the ladies. If you wanna drop 2k on a sick baller setup, cooool, if you wanna buy some cheap lame 4xuniversal junk, go for it. Personally, I rock 16x8 rota grids because they suit me. My stock wheels are very sunk due to my Stances, so I needed something to fill it out, but didnt want some stuff with a poor offset, and I would have rather spent the additional 1400 modifying what I consider more important aspects of my car.

Youre right, it IS about priority, but whos so arrogant enough to think everybody should have the same priority you do. If half the people here spent as much $$$ on go-mods and track time as they do on blingin' out their cars and keeping up with JDM trends, several people might discover drifting is more fun than hardparking.

The guys who are pissed off because they wasted money on a cheap wheel they dont really care for, the guys who went into debt for new wheels and regret it but act as elitists to keep themselves feeling like they made a smart financial decision, and the ones are actually satisfied with their purchase. Extra performance from steelies? No. Get the sport max 002's. 8 inches wide + 16lbs each + decent looks + low price = GGGRREEAATTT!!!! These will lower your unsprung weight and allow you a wider tire (15x7=28inches possible 15x8=32 inches possible) for like 400 shipped. Can't beat that!

haha, close, KA25DET w/V-mount built to the hilt. im only running tein flex, booo. But i would venture to say that my wheels are.... "up to par"....with HRE and iforged (note sig silly pants)... so yeah, got it covered ,thanks

but liek i have said again and again, i've worked super hard to get it where it is today, its taken me a year jsut on the motor alone (machining etc, re-machining, head work) im not into showing it off, its a race car, so when its painted (hopefully here within the next month) i might... MIGHT take a pic or two, it ok, it doesnt bother me, i just refuse to compete or fish for compliments. besides, having a nice car and not letting people see it is like getting a lapdance with her panties still on, it leaves that gap of mystery up for grabs, hahaha

people asked to see a broken wheel, people posted pics of broken gravity cast wheels, the same will happen to any gravity cast wheeel, case in point.... look at the broken wheels in this thread....

For what a set of Sportmaxes cost, you could talk to rbmotoring or rrr game and buy a set of quality used wheels.
They might be an older mesh style, but they'll be quality brand name wheels.

Sport Max are just another product name of Primax.

i have cheap HEAVY 18x8 rims on my car,
what i want to know is would make a lighter wheel a huge difference to drive, can you actualy feel the difference?(braking handling etc.) or are these just nummers you can show off?

i dont like guys with 2k wheels, cause the have a better paid job than me
