1st, pull all of your spark plugs if you haven't already then put a screw driver down the #1 cylinder and verify that your crank pulley is on the 2nd mark is TDC If your cam lobes are not perfectly < > at TDC then your cams are jacked one way or another and you need to carefully adjust them... Like I said, my cams were both off 2 teeth or 1 link on the sprocket...I had enough slack after removing the tensioner and CAS to adjust my timing chain on the exhaust cam and then ziptied it in place... for the intake carefully remove your cam caps in the correct order and you should be able to dip your intake cam downward and adjust the chain where it needs to be...use a torque wrench that can do in-lbs to tighten them in the correct sequence when finished remember to ensure you are at TDC on the 2nd Mark and that you have the correct # of links showing and that your cam lobes on cyl #1 are < > and then re-install your tensioner and make sure it bites...if it doesn't, you can turn it counter clockwise about *15 until it does...re-install your CAS according to the FRSPORT guide and rotate your motor by hand a few revolutions...if it is hard to turn or just stops, your shit is f'd up and your smacking a valve... |
