I sold my s13 in February and the same situation happened.

The guy was driving it home and halfway there, it overheats. He and his friend are total dumbasses and pour cold water in the radiator and crack the head and 3 cylinder walls.

Long story short, he wanted me to pay for repairs even though I was nice enough to get him a tow to Luke's shop. *shrug* fuck him.

my only concern is that if he is under 18, maybe he can't be held to a contract? just a thought, i would ask your uncle about that to be sure

but if i had to guess, he is just trying to bullshit you into taking it back. i say make him an offer... of 1/4 of what he paid for it! =D hahahaha.. Theres nothing really he can do, the car was sold "AS-IS" with the contract.

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago when I sold my ae86 to some guy. Guy called me up saying it was knocking and I told him, no it was just valve noise and the dude wanted me to give him back like $500 so he could fix it. I told him tough luck he bought the car as is. So i get a call about a month later from another guy saying he wanted me to release the title cuz he bought the car from this kid and the kid lost the title. Turns out he bought the car from the guy for like $300 because the kid thought the motor was toast. Turns out it was only a dead starter.

What does "as-is" mean? This means that you do not guarantee the condition of the property or that the property is free from defect. Unless you add a provison to the bill of sale that you warrant the condition for a certain number of days, the transfer is generally without warranties. However, the "as-is" language clarifies that no written or verbal warranties were made to the buyer and is used to protect the seller

it's not your problem you said the emission passed in your country which it did you did not lie how were you supposed to know if it would pass emission in his country? he should of done the research and figured it out for himself.

the brakes were fairly new maybe not brand new but were you supposed to put them on when he bought it?

don't buy it back because you don't have to unless you want to you are NOT obligated to.
