Step 1.
Put some tape or something on the lid sensor button in the PlayStation so you can boot a game with the lid open. Step 2. Put in an original (black bottomed) PlayStation disk, and turn the system on. Step 3. The disk will speed up for a few seconds. Then it will slow down. When it slows down switch the burnt disk in for the original disk. You must do this quickly and safely. This switch will not mess your geears up since the spinner is on a magnet. Step 4. The burnt disk will start to speed up for a few seconds. It will then slow down for about a second and speed back up for a few more seconds. It will slow down a second time. This is when you switch the original disk for the burnt one. Step 5. The original disk will start to spin and the screen will go black. When the screen goes black you switch the burnt disk for the original disk one last time. PSone started my piracy. = ( ..and dreamcast made me a gotta-get-every-game-even-though-i-won't-play-it collector. = ( Still bought a lot of games tho. I think I had roughly 30 legit games. None Greatest Hits either. I ended up selling everything for $300 to buy a PS2. Still rockin the PS2 with HDLoader.

This thread is awesome...
I loved so many of the games that have already been posted... here are some of my favorites that no one has mentioned yet: ^ never released to the public because the publisher deemed it too graphically voilent... probably one of the best fighting games I've ever played though. ^ not released in the US... you loaded the game and then you loaded a music CD and the game would develop a completely new level based on the music... it was F-ing cool.... ^the spin off of Parappa the Rappa and the original "Guitar Hero" game. ^ridiculously cool multi-disc adventure/shooter it was half tomb raider, half parasite eve and it starred 2 hot lesbian chicks. I'm sure I could think of more if I spent some time on it... Also the swap trick is good in a pinch (I used it several times daily my freshmen year of college ) but you can get a stealth modchip for the PS1 for about $8 if you know where to look... soldering required by it's still stupid easy to do... I probably installed 100 of those things during my college career |

wasn't that game banned in some areas because you could rip off somebodies arm and beat them to death with it?

whats the easiest way to start a ps2 hdloader setup going? ive got a network adapter around here somewhere..
this ps2 i got off my buddy has a shit ass laser. had to adjust it and shit to get it to read anything. and sits there for a minute or two before spinning up and actually playing. i've always wondered how monster rancher would work on a hdloader setup, i loved that game. im currently jamming on tokyo extreme racer 2 aka kaido battle something and god of war borrowed from a friend. |

Here we go - Wu-Tang Shaolin Style. Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style for PS - Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style PlayStation - Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style PS Game Though it wasn't as gory/bloody but the concept was still there... at least according to the publishers. Anyways, nice thread. I'd like to see what other rare games you guys have sitting on your shelves or are missing from your collection. I'd still like a "real" copy of Suikoden II, but I had to settle for a copy just so I could play it/see what made it so great. -Aaron '91 240sx coupe |

did anyone else ever catch "illegal instructions" in certain games if you hit the playstation with a disc inside playing. I remember doing this with the sega genesis, you would wiggle the cartridge when it was in the genesis and if you caught it right it would glitch out the video and throw up pages and pages of "illegal instructions" It was basically a bunch of numbers, im guessing something that had to do with how the game was coded. NBA Jam used to display a notice, saying that if you are seeing this message to write them down and send them to sega of america.

psone files are raw files, so you dont need an emulator at all. when I get home I'll try to remember to post up the whole process here.
and yes you can play FFVII and FFVIII on psp because there's a "switch disc" option.
