I owned one and I was not impressed. only thing supercar about it was the cost of maintenance.
likes 1. interior was nice 2. women thought it was expensive 3. I loved valet parking dislike 1. it was SUPER slow 2. chassis was soft 3. brakes were not adequate 4. maintenance was expensive 5. parts were expensive my insurance was around $450 a month. I have a clean record. |

huh? 1991 911 was 97k, 1991 NSX started at ~60k. late 90's-2000's NSX was up around 90k when at that time a 996 turbo was ~110k. Z32 TT's were expensive for their day too starting about 30k going up to ~45k in the later years.

For references sake, I drove myparents 4.6 '10 Mustang for an entire track day. Needs better tires factory, but it was as fast as an STI, which is as fast as an NSX. Live axle, sync, heated leather, 5 speed. Was great. Threads like this are what gives forums a bad name. 80% video game kids who have never seen a track 10% guys who have been on track 5% of guys who have driven all cars on track, and don't comment 4% of guys who have driven more than their own car on track 1% of us who have driven them all on track, and know a thing or two.

And anyone that uses Nurburgring times as some sort of 'standard' is mistaken on true performance.
I'd sooner use Road Atlanta, VIR, or even Watkins Glen for the standard...

what, in your book, is substantial proof. In my "hay day" we did not have internet to go run and post on after we did all our racing, hooningn, offroading, and backroading.
Nor did I run and post on the internet after driving some of the supercars and exotics that I have driven. I have two pics of my first two muscle cars if that helps? one was an 81 monte with a built 454, the other was a 74 chevelle with a swapped n charged 350..... I can scan the two pics that I have of those. My first insane build was a chevette with a 454. IN WV the hillbilly do some interesting things with cars... My first import build was a 200sx with a ka24e....but the state wouldnt let me keep it. my second import is a 300z, and im building another 200sx that will have some pretty nifty bragging rights. The exotics that I have driven: Delorean, nsx, jaguar xk8. The fast cars I have driven: Lambo Diablo, svt cobra R, Ferrari Scuderia, Ferrari f40, Porsche 911 gt3. mitsu evo that was dyno'd @ 550hp. Ill be taking it around "the ring" later this year if everything lines up..... do I have vids and pics.....No, I'm old school, driving them was enough of a memory for me... And yes, my 200sx will eat a 5.0 in the curves!

Its all in the passion of the owner.. Some people enjoy owning deloreans, and some people don't because of its lack of performance, but still you gotta respect that.
Appreciate it if your a fan of Ayrton senna and F1, than you can respect this car a little more imo.. Perhaps the greatest driver in the world, lent a hand in tweaking it before his death.. Honda just revealed the new nsx concept Acura NSX Concept portends an efficient hybrid supercar It all comes down to it still being a honda, honda isnt known to build supercars, just good engines.

To the guy who posted the 355, there was a thread on TCL lately with an engine rebuild bill for one. It was something like $49,000 and it wasn't even really a full rebuild.
You can get a 355 for like $50k, but the total ownership costs are staggering.

^^^
So!!! He post it cause to him it's BOSS!! lmao Just like all the folks on here claim they rather own a c6 vette cause it's BOSS!!! lames....copy ass folks. If it was shaped like a box and out handled anything on the track...they'd be driving that. I agree it's may not be a supercar due to the performance, but how many vettes/vipers do we lose to a simple on ramp? Why did I say that? No relevance...I sure many of you guys are track nuts know how much of a mental strain a high performance car can be! I guess I'm ranting, I still hold it up there with the vettes/vipers despite it's lack of performance... ^^^ Rather hop out of this! Than this \/\/\/\/\/ When does the word "hypercar' start to be used? |

This entire thread makes me hate "car enthusiasts.". I guess arguing about opinions is productive. If you want an nsx, buy one. Who cares what it's labeled, it's a car. Go enjoy one if you choose to.

Then what's the point of a discussion forum and and off topic section? We're here to talk about these things.

All this debate over whether the NSX is a supercar or not...
Just ask yourself, would Bruce Wayne roll up to a party in an NSX? I don't think so. (He would not be caught in a Corvette either) Ironman would, but he also drove an Audi R8. (Ironman is a cheap rich guy) here he is with the new concept nsx shooting the next avengers movie. |

And you've driven all of these super cars but don't have a picture of at least you with one of them? Ok sure I'll play along, but guess what, valeting it across a parking lot doesn't count as driving it.
