Anyone know where i can get a s13 trunk bar? I have seen them is a couple magazine in cars but i have never found any where that sell them.

any bar should help.

It won't help 100$ worth... probably not even 50$ worth.

PS, those Bars are for people who take out the rear bumper, if you've got the rear bumper still in there you're a retard if you brace it more.

Could you please elaborate more on this?

The trunk bar is held on by bolts that also retain the rear bumper support. Since the rear bumper cover is bolted onto the rear bumper support, what would you bolt the trunk bar onto if you took out the rear bumper?

Nuts and Bolts maybe? even without the bumper in there thats still the frame rail.

fyi: stock ITR has this bar, the GS-R does not... i know its not 240sx related but.. if honda engineers added it to their car.. it must add something. just dont know to what extent. home depot time?

If you look closely, the trunk bar is meant to bolt onto the 4 bolts that hold the rear bumper support in place. You can see it under the trunk carpet. The holes are covered by 4 rubber plugs.

If you look under an S13, the rear bumper support slide into the frame rails. The frame rails themselves are not threaded and will need mounting points fabricated onto them.

Can you post pictures to show what you're talking about?

You can see it in this picture:

The bar bolts through the frame rail and onto the bumper support. If the bumper support were not present, there would be nothing to bolt on to without fabricating the frame rails to accept the bolts. You cannot get a wrench in between the frame rails so you'll need to at least weld the bolts in place.

its not rocket science to put a bolt though the hole and tighten a nut on to it. I know what it looks like in there since my rear bumper is gone, I know that on an S13 I can get a wrench in there to tighten a nut and bolt down.

More information that doesn't require a masters in physics: That 1oz peice of aluminum isn't gonna do shit when you have a 50b peice of welded steel bolted to the same location.

most of the japanese cars i see without rear bumper covers don't have the giganitc crash bar/support on them. making connecting the rear frame rails probably pretty helpful.

You can easily drop the bolts through the holes, then take a nut into the rail and secure it. I think I put one on a magnet to get the extra reach on my old car. The only benefit of these is to get an adjustable one, so you can at least put some tension on the rails to counter any loading of the chassis. The Circuit Sports bar pictured above does nothing at all. But, it's pretty, and that's what 99% of people shopping for one care about.

^Yeah, from the location of the bar. I dont see what it would do other then sit there and look cute.

Better off just finding out how to connect a bar from your rear strut, to them mounting holes. To make a |X| like bar in the trunk.
