What help do you need? And do you already have the FSM for that specific 1JZ and your chassis? If not, I recommend you find them quickly if you ever plan on accomplishing anything.

You just need the FSM and alot of staring at random white pages with alot of black lines to figure it out. But post up a bit more specific problems and we should be able to help. Unless someone else has a step by step link online somewhere.

the information's out there, and sometimes we ALL have to pay for that information....

and others just know what they're doing, and it doesn't matter what motor's going into what chassis.

that's what separates the parts changers from the professional technicians, and the people who draw, from the people who trace other people's drawings.

when you start frying ecu's, modules, sensors, and hacking up wiring harnesses.....it gets more expensive than paying a professional to take care of your headache the first time around

there's freakin 9,000,000 write ups, video's , and IMAX 3d movies of how to wire up an s13 sr20det into an s13 chassis and people STILL can't do it and 99% of it is just matching up the same color'd wires!!

the bottom line is though, when you want your teeth taken out correctly by a professional, you go see a dentist.

Dave

i would just pay to have it done.

I payed Sean at Myjzswap.com to do the wiring. it came out awesome.

i've read many threads with people banging there head against the wall and have gotten countless pm's and emails and messages though youtube about how the wiring was done and how people can't get there car to start or stay running. I know of a few people who "did the wiring them selves to save money" and they couldn't figure it out, so they took the car to shops to have them do it, where they had to pay labor rate AND for all the new parts that a shop will say is "bad" and should be replaced.

really makes the $400-600 seem like a good value.

I had a few problems with my 2JZ harness when i sent it to Sean but he fixed it up good and wired up a few other things i needed done, we got the harness back installed it in the car and 1st turn of the key the car fired, i have yet to have 1 wiring issue with wiring since.

I'mnot doubting your abilities but have you wired a 2JZ/1JZ into an S-Chassis?

just trying to see which ones if any you have done, from what i have noticed seems alot of people have problems wiring them.

as a matter of fact i have, and i can also wire up his 1j to use a 2j ecu if he prefers.

i can wire up any motor in any chassis, my labor is cheaper than any other wiring service that i know of, my turn around time is typically less than a week which is half what others are, and i've probably done more crazy/hybrid swaps than most of the companies you can call.

another thing is most of those company's specialize in one particular swap. it doesn't matter what motor's going into what chassis for me, i can do them all. i'm not boasting but i will state a brief resume.

i've been doing nissan specific wiring for the last 10 years, and the last 6 professionally.

the last 2 years i was the wiring and diagnostic specialist at Lethal Injection Motorsports LETHAL MOTORSPORTS and still do subwork for them.

i've done every rb and sr in every s chassis including s30 (240-280z) as well as an rb26 into a 350z, an ls2 in an s14, a ka and sr in early 90's nissan pickup trucks, a vg3oe in an fc rx7, 1jz in s13's, 200zr rb20 in an s13 using an r32 ecu, 3 rotor 20b into an fd rx7, sr20ve into b14 and b13, gtir pulsar sr20det in an infiniti g20, vq35de in an s13 vert, stand alone's in turbo camaro's, eliminator speed boats with supercharged big blocks, i've done complete custom harnesses from the powertrain and guages all the way down to the courtesy lights.

wiring is what i do. i'm a professional technician and co-owner of a full service repair shop (which is why i left Lethal) with $80,000 in diagnostic equipment. after hours i tune cars or make conversion plug and play harnesses for people out of state that mail them to me, then every once in a while i'll spend some time with the ole lady or hop on the forum.

you get the idea,

Dave

rumor has it the 1j ecu is similar to the 7m in it's old school processing and probably the reason more blow up than should........that's why i get a lot of requests to wire up the 2j ecu for em.....not to mention the new 2j aem ems's now has enough ignition driver's to run sequential ignition instead of wasted spark. the old one's only had 5 ignition driver's....just sayin

i'm actually on the downward slope of finishing up my 600hp widebody 2j powered 240z. i'm putting a z32 rear subframe in it to keep the independant suspension and utilize the stronger diff. if i went with a ford 9 inch rear end and 4 link it would hook better, but i'd have to run in the outlaw class at import showdown n stuff like that

anyways, sorry for getting off topic and i appreciate the compliment Flicktitty.

if i don't know how to do something i'll just say i don't know, but when it comes to wiring, that's my cup of tea

take care,

Dave

that's great.

i never even knew about his guy/his diagrams, or his company.

to be honest with you i use Alldata for ecu pinouts, schematics, service & repair information, as well as making invoices. i pay $230 a month for that service.

for my jdm engines i've bought many fsm cd's and have compiled quite a stash of diagrams over the last 10 years.

99.99999999% of the time i will NEVER even consult someone else's "how to" or guide because frankly i don't trust it. 2. sometimes they're wrong 3. all the repairs and services including my wiring harnesses come with a 12,000 mile 12 month warranty therefore i don't have the luxury of guessing or hoping so and so on xyz website/forum was correct.

before doing a swap i've never done before i will look for information but i will never assume anyone's "how to" to be the holy grail or even the correct way to wire up a particular swap.

this is why A. i have the reputation i have, B. i can stand behind my product/services, and C. have successfully completed every swap i've undertaken.

i draw my pictures, i don't trace other people's drawings

i'm not the only person alive that can wire up X motor in Y chassis, but i will say, i can guarantee you won't have a problem with the wiring that i do and if there is a problem with it i will make it right.

if someone needs my services, fantastic, if not, no problem and best of luck

edit: i just checked out their website. i wonder if i know their wiring guy or if he knows/heard of me? from what i could tell, it looks like he's done a lot of older toyota swaps and is familiar with many/all things toyota, and couple honda swaps. if i had a toyota motor and didn't know how to do the wiring i wouldn't have a problem with paying him to do it for me.

i've never heard of phoenix tuning, but then again they're on the other side of GA. i'm sure he's great, and it sounds like you've had good experiences with him so right on.

for the record i will state again that you could hire me to wire up any motor into any chassis, and your only limitations are your imagination, and how much you wanna spend for wiring.

i can/will be doing a lot more mil spec wiring. kinda like "chase bays" except available for every swap, not just hondas. i have to price out materials still. i believe Hamilton wants me to do a custom mil spec harness for his LS1 s13 track car, i know he's having me do it, and he's talking about doing it all mil spec but i haven't begun yet so i won't presume. but anywho, i'm here if you need me.

cliffnotes:
i don't trust other people's wiring
i stand behind my services
i can wire up any motor into any chassis

Dave

I call BS on this I currently doing a 1jz vvti swap into s13 chasis. I called Dr. Tweak for a wiring harness he immediately said their is a 8 wk backlog for wiring and immediatley tired to push the rush order price of $150 extra. On top of all of that he wanted to charge me extra for wiring the dakota boxes. I don't doubt his skills but his customer relations is suspect in my eyes. He's a self proclaimed doctor of wiring he should be able to push these things out is he really that busy? I went with 2jz swap guys for my harness. I called the other day for status and they could not tell me. Drew says it will be around 4 to 6 wks since he can only work on 1 harness a week. I honestly do not believe they do them in house. I didn't find Sean at myjzswap.com until after the fact. Had I found Dave I would have went with him since I'm a Ga. native. Sorry for the rant

the last 4 weeks i've been back at Pro Auto Care we've been balls to the walls cranking out at least $7300 worth of work in a Monday through Friday 8am-6pm week with 3 employees and that's including myself.

i've tuned 4 cars since i've been back as well, and STILL i would have no problem guaranteeing i could get your wiring harness back to you within 2 weeks of you mailing them to me......just sayin.

ANY MOTOR, in ANY chassis.

if i start getting too many harnesses on top of my regular work, i'll let you know before i even start, but as of now, we're rockin n rollin and my doors are wide open.

thanks again Cole

i'm hungry

Dave

if you can't decipher it from a wiring schematic then you really shouldn't do the wiring at all. It is simple kids there are only a few things needed from your chassis harness to run a car, for the most part you just need to supply juice, grounds, and voila. For the most part the ecu/harness systems are stand-alone if you know what you are doing they mesh together. Complain about there not being a cookie cutter walk-through out there, but really if you can't play the game, then you don't deserve to be a baller...

right,

he did the same for me..but i'll wait ''the 7 weeks'' he said, oh and FYI 2JZ swap.com used to hire him for wiring service...then sean came threw and used his model of how to wire the harness,

ODDLY enough sean has left 2JZswap.com and on their forum they say ''don't respond to emails from sean'' and ''don't let him fool you guys we can do the harness our self''

just saying....i've seen dave's work on some RB25's...the dude got talent...electric wise dunno tho,

Well as of right now I'm quietly waiting for some kind of status on my wiring harness. I hope and pray that it's done correctly. That's the only thing holding me up really. I'll be the first to tell you if I get my harness back and it's not right I will trash those guys names on every forum that I am apart of. They received my harness on the 21st of Jan and its almost been a month. I'll call again shortly for a tracking number hopefully. Dave any future business will come your way.

I will post some pics once I get it back. I'm going to call this coming Monday and let them know I need my harness back before the end of week, I'm tired of waiting.

Dave what's your phone number? I just called 2jzswap today and I was told that there was 1 dude in front of me. He went on to inform me it would be another 2 weeks before its done. I was intially told 4-6 weeks they received my harness on 20 Jan it has been 43 days=6 weeks. He said they were backed up from the holidays and asked if my harness was a vvti harness. He went on to explain that no one really understands VVTI and until he gets my harness on the bench to check it out then that's all he can do? He said there waiting on a set of guages/directions from Japan to test vvti so they can ensure it works properly. I just have to wait until they get to it. I honestly don't know what to do I can tell you I'm pissed. Do I fire them out of fustration and lack of ability? Have them send it back to me wait a full week then send it out to another shop for another delay. I'm really worried about this harness as the dude on the phone wasn't very reassuring on the process. He almost made it seem like they didn't know what to do with it.

Well well boys this saga continues...........I contacted Sean today he only lives 1 miles from 2jz shop and he told me he could get the harness done in 1 week. I said cool called 2jzswap and said release my harness to Sean they refused and said they have to send it to me. I'm so pissed right now and to top it off Carlos told me this morning there was 1 harness in front of mine and until he got it on the bench he couldn't tell me what was needed, he now has reversed himself and is charging me a $75 assessment fee .......FOR WHAT? I guess for storing my harness for 6 wks... ridiculous. How do these guys stay in business with such shady practices. If you can't deliver on a timeline why take people money. I am afraid now that they will jack up my harness since it was in pristine condition when I sent it in. 2JZswap.com is a joke terrible customer service........DO NOT USE 2JZswap.com
