Let's talk spark plugs!
What is your favorite spark plug/ had the best luck with.
Please state what kind of motor and if your running boost or if it's n/a. I think this will be a good topic and if this has been covered recently I apologize. Thanks! |

Those are iridiums right?
I've always like BCPR7ES, gapped down to .030, less if I get some ping. Cheap enough to change them out every other oil changes, at $2 a pop. |

bkr7iex on my redtop sr. never had any issues with em.
i ran champion coppers for quite a while, just changed em out about once a year to be on the safe side. car only gets maybe 5k miles a year and coppers are cheap anyways. always gap to .030 and use anti-seize. |

has anyone ever tried pulstar plugs on a sr? i remember emailing them right when they came out and they didn't have an application for sr20.

I use BKR6E so BKR7E's in every-fucking-thing with plug wires, are they the correct height to work with coil-on-plug ignition jap motors like the RB20? I know there's two different standards, ISO and JIS...

BKR7EIX S14 blacktop. I just keep the receipt from Advance and warranty them whenever I feel like changing them. They come with a 3 year warranty

Engines get better gas mileage and less emissions the hotter they are, that is why most cars have an operating temp of 200-220. Some iron blocks are 230!. Iridium increases heat increasing fuel mileage. Hotter everything is, the air the engine is consuming is less dense(= less fuel). Just like when its cold you expect more power right?
Copper runs cooler, has colder spark(naturally) to reduce detonation for higher horsepower and aftermarket applications. Many, countless times have i taken out iridium plugs in exchange for copper and gained power, or got rid of a miss fire. never buy "iridium racing" plugs for your car, you will waste the $$ and i will say i told you so. downside is that a copper plug wears out twice as fast, but who cares when they cost $3 a piece. |

BKR7E @ .036 @ 23 psi with Corn and LS2 Coils. Before, 20 psi and stock dizzy and coil rewire, I was running .030.

I use 95 Supra Spark Plugs NGK brand gapped at 0.3 with heat range of 7 one above the stock spec
I change them out almost every month running 15 lbs of boost S14 SR20DET

Majority of the time with NGK, the number in the plug model is the range. BKR7E is 7 and BPR9ES is 9 heat range. Stock is BKR5E or optional 6E.

What exactly does gapping the plugs do? Would it benefit anything on a stock KA?
I recently bought NGK Iridium plugs, and NGK cables just need to put them in. But I also am planning on going KA-T next year, so would gapping the plugs help then?
