Yea... just put a new door on my 240sx after a little cut-off/battle with the guardrail (god damn saturns)... and decided to do a tune up (new plugs, wires, rotor, distributor) and my car doesn't like me anymore.

I'm coming off the freeway doing about 55, and i dont feel like downshifiting, so i throw the car in netural (5-speed) and as soon as i pull the clutch up again, the rpm's go to 0 and the steering doesn't like me anymore either (power steering). I throw down the clutch and hit it back up, and she gets me home luckly.  No clue what happened.  Any ideas?

0 rpms means your engine isnt turning...are u sure it was 0? loss of power steering means the engine wouldnt be running either...sounds odd. also this is a tech question

mine used to do that, and i never figured out why...  id put it in neutral and it would die.  it would always start up again, i just couldnt figure it out.  along the way, it got fixed.  i think i removed the AIV valve.  just pull that thing out of there.

my car used to do that.... ummmm...... let me think what was the problem.....
i changed the spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter and now it runs like a charm....
maybe you did your ignition system wrong?

sounds like you might have hooked something up wrong, check all those connections again.  Also, you may have a vacuum leak (somewhat related to AIV) check for a little air leaking sound and see if you can find anything.

My ca18 did that twice about 25 miles down the road before it blew up.  Suggest a tune up or something, its some type of safety mode.

My car used to do that if i pushed the clutch in or put it in neutral if my rpm's were up (like above 3k)....the needle would just keep dropping and my car would die....usually coming off the highway......all i had to do was idle it up....mine was idled real low for some reason.....but it hasn't done it again.

Mine does the exact same thing about once every two months. I have no clue what does it, but I know it has nothing to do with mods because it used to do that even when the car was bone stock.

I had the same problem, the car would just dead everytime I came to a stop.... its the AIV value.... you can either buy a new value or try to adjust it.

I brought a new one cause mine was busted....
