Opinions/ Anyone have any other photos of this Hood?
Anyone here have a picture of this hood actually on a car? I'm kind of digging it because i feel like it looks better than the D1's and i'm hoping it'd still get some good airflow and help keep my rb25 nice and cool. Vents look like they'd be in the right place....right where the wind would hit the engine and shoot up into the vents.
Anyway, thoughts on the looks? Any other photos or personal testimony to it's function/appearance? Thanks 95-96 Nissan 240SX DV2 Style Carbon Fiber Hood VIS Octane Motorsports |

Yeah, i do, but they are on my desktop, will post when i get back in town. It's nothing special yet, just basically a stock zenki. Just bought it and am blowing all my cash first on an rb25det and having it professionally installed so everything is done right the first time, so it's definitely a work in progress type of thing. But i do know that the rb25s are going to run hot in the engine bay anyway, so i've been trying to find a vented hood i like that would actually work to a mild degree at least. I feel like initially i'd leave it unpainted, but eventually once allllll the engine is set up just the way i want it, and when i get a dmax d1 kit on there, i will prep it up and get the whole thing painted, probably cf hood included. Depends on how it all starts looking and coming together.

Enjuku racing used the same style hood but from Seibon. I dont see their car got overheated. The hood Enjuku racing used on the s13.5 was Seibon DV cf hood.

I wish I could find a hood for the 95-96 that had one of those NASA style scoops down by the intake and THAT'S IT.
That hood has way too much going on for me. Plus, I can't imagine how hood vents are mandatory to keep that RB cool...

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. But why risk it? if i lived in another state i probably wouldn't bother. But i live in texas. half the year it's 90-110 degrees outside and i want to be able to run AC. They help. |

To give you an idea even if it is not on a S14.
I have a similar one on my s13 and the vents are perfectly placed to increase ventilation through FMIC and radiator. The small ducts give somewhat cold air around the turbo and manifold area. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Right, I feel ya, couldn't hurt. just watch out for rain I suppose, or washing the car while its hot... I wish hoods like these were designed with water concerns in mind; like an OEM Evo hood or something.

Thanks a bunch for the photos shogun, that helped a lot just to get an idea for how the hood looks in person and in all directions. Definitely let me make up my mind for the Yes. I appreciate it.
And thanks for the link to the ventilation stop, again, appreciated! Your s13 is coming together really well, that front bumper is clean. |
