noise on turbo

when it goes into boost it makes a screetching sound like if it has no oil in there to let it spool. what can it be?


please help me out i hope its not a blown turbo! =x

You remove the intake and inspect the blades on the compressor? Around were the blades and the housing meet.

Stock or what intake?

Turbo inlet gasket, the one that mates the turbo to the manifold. The car feels like it has less power, right?

turbo bearings are worn out, compressor wheel is makeing contact on the compressor housing

AS S14DB said pull intake and check for shaft play

i just finished replacing every gasket like a month ago so it cannot be a gasket

Mine does the same thing. Under boost it makes a whinning sound. I might have an exhaust leak near the turbo, sounds like it a bit.

i checked today and in 2nd gear like about 3k the boost gauge starts going up and out of no where just drops back down to 20 and makes a wierd noise. im thinking maybe a leak?

sorry to bring thread back, don't feel the need to make a new thread since this is pretty new.

when my shit starts to spool it makes a "chee cheee chee" noise. i know i have a leak around my elbow area but would that cause a noise like that? or is that shaft play type noise?

che che che is bad thats your turbo being QUICKLY slowed down by the pressure having no where to go. check your wastegate and bov for proper function. BAD noise!!!!
