OK so this going to be a few question thread:

I have been reading up on these cars/swaps and I have heard something about a nissan driveshaft noise. From what I can tell it is normal. I think my problem is that but I am going to ask anyways.

When I down shift it sounds like (sometimes) I have a bad throw out bearing but it is coming from more towards the drive shaft area. I am wondering if it is the drive shaft or what. The funny thing is that it really only does it when I down shift into third or second (sometimes second). I am thinking it might be the tranny MAYBE because it only does it in those 2 gears but it could also be the drive shaft.
Reason i think it is the drive shaft:
Third and second under a down shift would cause more strain on the drive shaft because of the tranny's gearing.
Reaons to think it is tranny:
When shifting into third, very fast it grinds slightly.

Also nother question.
When I am sitting in nutruel after driving for a good hour I can hear a very very slight chatter (only in nut.) and when I press the clutch in it goes away.

Also last question:
I think I already know the answere to this question. After Driving the car for a good hour: Let me tell you that I usually use down shifting to slow down more than I break, just my way of driving. I don't bring it into high rpms when doing it just to about 3500 at the most. When I down shift and after I have slowed down I press in the clutch and sometimes the car idles down low like it isn't able to recover, and once in a while it will cut off. I am figuring it is the MAF, Am i right to think that is what it is. The only time it does it is when the electric fans are on. Don't know what relavence that has.

Also to add. These problems rarely ever acure But I am very stupid anal about small shit like this and 9 out of 10 people wouldn't even notice but it is driving me nuts.

But seriously, KA... SR... s14... s13?
When's the last time you serviced your drivetrain?
Check the driveshaft bearing for excessive wear also.
Last part: could also be a vacuum or tps issue

unsprung clutch kit? Some of these are known to chutter when you press the clutch pedal in. Noise is also common, specially on decel aroud 3k, with one piece driveshafts.

One thing to check also are the bolts in the rubber coupling that connect the drive shaft to the tranny's sleeve yoke.

According to Nissan and the FSM these bolts should not be removed, but if you did so anyway check to see that they are tightened down properly.

I had some noise coming from the drive shaft and noticed that these bolts were loose and 1 was actually missing!

I replaced and tightened all three bolts and the noise went away.

It's a simple fix and something worth checking out.
