parking and drift event rental?? for socal people
ok i was thinking of renting out a parking lot i live in huntington park and near by the city of vernon i seen some huge lots that are empty.. unsure of cost but im assuming $1000+ a day, if i can rent them. as for insurance im talking to my rep on friday or monday to see if my insurance cover something of this matter or just pay a small difference on my policy... now i allready have a 2,000,000 liability and 2,000,000 umbrella policy for the business i own... so im hopeing they can be somewhat useful. I need security, and staff, food... and a bunch of cones and what else as far as operating side? i just want cars to come in and drift off coures there cars must be able to pass tech, and have the car running in good condition. i woudnt know the cost since i dont have actual hard number to calculate the price per car... im sure people would come... alot of advertising has to be done but what else would i need? Would i get alot of car to sign up?? who knows will see... how many people would be willing to come?

^^haha anyway, im sure this event would work out as long as you take mad time and effort to plan and discuss things. You should probably get in touch with a few people that plan events and see what kind of help they can offer.

well i dont want to get fined... but i would think the city would try to get some money saying something like they need to get more police presense and what not... im going to have to check i think the biggest obstacle i see is the parking lot rental.. and as far as skid racing... im not sure just by looking at some you-tube clip i see sparks flying from under the cars with that = fire lol

well if i can cover all the cost i can do it for cheap and all day type of thing... i think we can do something like people who help, get to drive for free?? i think thats fair... but then liability... there so many people happy to sue. lol. well there is actually a formula to calculate how many sales (or cars) i would need to break even and also for profit but i need real numbers.. i just cant calculate out of my ass... my insurance agent was not available so till monday i will know about that... then after that i got to ask for the parking lot rentals

wow... i really like that skid racing idea...
but for the parking lot event thing, you might have to check your city for noise regulations. I remembered we we used to auto-x at the Hollywood park in inglewood, the city had restrictions which made us have to run our cars at under 95db. (no one really followed that rule) which is why we're not allowed to auto-x there anymore. |

The city will not allow it, I'm almost positive. My buddy's parents owned a company that had a huge parking lot they never used, so we used it for drifting a lot of the time. Police started showing up and telling us to leave even though the parking lot was owned by the person there, it wasen't allowed to host motor sports or something like that. The city had to approve of it. Don't know the exact detail for detail but thats a portion of it.
