I know there are more of you in the area, but not sure what lists you are on. I met up with two people last night with 240's. One guy had an SR and it was pretty sick fast (now the second I have been in).
Anyone in or near the area post here. We should organize a meet some weekend since its so freakishly nice out. |

For you guys in the Madison area, I run with Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs in their autocross (solo 1) series and we're always looking for new members. We run at blackhawk farms raceway on the WI/IL border in south beloit. Autox days consist of 2-3 practice sessions in the morning of about 5 laps a piece on a full 2 mile road course with 3-5 timed runs in the afternoon. NO CONES. If any of you guys are in the area and interested in participating, send me an e-mail, talk to me on IM, or just continue to post up here. I will answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.

Do you guys have the schedule set for this year?? When is the driving school? There are a number of people in my Nissan club that are interested in the school! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

for those of you interested in the autox series here is the Midwestern Council homepage
http://www.execpc.com/~mcscc/ it includes schedule, how to get on the listserv, the tracks we run at, and other useful information, driver school's run i think $130 for one full day, unfortunately it's not until August 3rd, but it is not required that you attend before you compete |

There is an "autocross school" but unfortunately this year it's not until late in the season (august). You don't need to attend this before you can run. For you an anyone else that would be first timers i would recommend the following:
You're first time there ask one of the more successful drivers if you can ride with them during a practice session. I'd be more than happy to give you a ride, but there are far better drivers than me. I can give you the names of the some of the better and nicer drivers out there. Tell the head steward it's you're first time and ask him if you can get an instructor to ride with you during you're practice sessions. This is the fastest way to improve. I'll ride with you if there isn't anyone available; but you have to promise not to kill me. Typically there are 3 practice sessions in the morning so if you repeat this process during each you'll have a decent idea of what you're doing Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. |

This is my first post here, and I don't actually have a 240SX anymore. I'm just looking around for a Classifieds board on which to unload some of the remaining stock parts in my garage.
That said, I keep a schedule with just about every drive-your-own-car event within a few hours of Chicago for my own use, but other people sometimes find it useful; http://planet-torque.com/sche.php Anyone interested in the Midwestern Council events should make a point of hitting their free classroom driving school held the last 4 Fridays in March. Have fun, keep your machinery between the greenery. |

Used to be a Salt Creek member, but I don't do open track events anymore, and I let it lapse. I'm concentrating on Solo2, and am a member of both Tri-State Sports Car Club and the SCCA Chicago Region. |
