SR in NoVA needs help! HELP!
Hey guys! I'm having trouble and I'm hoping somebody can help.
I have an s13 with a black top sr. Motor is in the car and, if jumped, the car starts and stays running. But the idle is HORRIBLE. I won't dare drive the car anywhere since it cant hold a stable idle and it pulls a littel bit but nowhere near what I was expecting. What it needs immediately Timing checked and adjusted TPS checked and adjusted Double check piping for possible vacuum leaks. I'm not sure if fixing the 2-3 things listed above will fix the idle problem but it def needs it so it's a start. I understand that performing those two adjustments is not terribly difficult, I've researched how-to's and all that so I know they are not hard to do, but I'd feel a bit more comfortable with somebody else there with more experience to "hold my hand" as I don't feel 100% about jumping in and fiddling with my motor myself. I'm not sure which shops are in the area that can troubleshoot. I won't trust just any garage with my car. I'm looking for a local shop that I can tow my car to to have it fixed and running OR if there are any individuals out there that are mechanically inclined that would be willing to swing by and take a look at it and maybe do the adjustments I'd be willing to pay your for your time/get you liquored up (after working on car of course lol) buy you lunch. Pretty much anything short of performing sexual favors... I'm in Manassas VA. TIA guys! Chunky |

Sorry for the late response guys! I thought this thread had died and was hoping to bump it back up...
About ptuning... I've heard of them before. Funny enough it was on a thread that was bashing VIP Garage. I wont get into the details but I know the owner of VIP as well as his buddy (PJ, red s14 back in the day... some old timers from VA might know him) and was trying to get them to look at my car. I guess I'm lucky that they pretty much blew me off huh? I'll try calling PTuning to ask them, I'm sure they'll tell me they're SR specialists just to get me in the door as most shops probably would. I don't mind a shop that doesn't specialize in Nissan, I just want a shop that can do the work, with the resources to get the job done. |

Im in your area with a full shop if you need anything. Just opened up and am looking to build some rep, cheap prices. Iv got a crap load of experience with SR's and Ka's. Been doing the 240 thing for 9 years. Send me a PM if your interested.
Ptuning is damn expensive. They specialize in Evos and scoobs, but are pretty broad it seems and have been in business for a while. They have some stupid expensive AWD 2000 hp dyno that they charge just out of control prices for dyno pulls. |
