Agreed, make sure the bottom male end (mounted to turbo) has pin sized hole.

So the consensus for a solid reliable det head setup seems to be.

B15 Roller Rocker Lifters
dual rocker arm guide conversion
jwt cams and springs

Correct?

Will this setup allow you to spin to 9k rpm safely?

Anything else we should add or modify while in there?

You can get any where... ATP Turbo, FRSport, Enjuku.. just remember its the smaller diameter restrictor, not the big one you have....

Not an SR, but curious what some of your guys' input would be...
KA24DE-T, 360-375hp (preferably whp) with the supporting mods. Note on cams --> Only will play around with mixing / matching stock cams.
GT2871R/GTX2867R? Or GTX2871R?
Or GTX2971R (84 trim) due to being 2.4L?

If GT2871 or GTX2867 I'd have to run boost ~21.5+.
If GTXxx71R I'd only have to run boost ~18psi.

I bought an SR20DET motor for my son to build for Christmas. He currently has a 1991 180SX which has a stock SR20DET redtop in it which will be replaced with this "built" spare. We are reviewing turbo upgrades to go along with his build and happened upon this thread. So far, we've had the block pressure checked, bored (86.5mm) and decked 10 thousandths. I already purchased BC 264 cams, BC springs, titanium retainers, SuperTech inconel oversized valves with all new guides and seals, BC forged rods with JE forged pistons, King bearings and a new HKS tubular exhaust manifold. Right now we are going to use the stock intake manifold with a Radium fuel rail, 750cc DeatschWerks injectors and an Aeromotive FPR. The head is going in to get cleaned up and a port/polish/valve job will be accomplished. He's looking for 350-400whp to be used for some road course racing @ VIR. He's been eyeing the GTX 2867 Gen2 series. With the current parts list he has, would the 2871R be a better choice for his desired output?

If you have the money to spend on a gtx2867 gen 2, might as well buy their new g550. The 2871r is old tech. The new one has insane amounts of response and great power. Also ditch those bc 264's and run some jwts4hl's.

Ehhh they're not horrible. But jwt s3, s4, or s4hl is the much better choice.

All that should be more than enough to support your power goals and then some. The 2871r is tried and true for this power range, but is at about its limit.

That thing is spooling nicely. I assume that's around 20 psi. So full boost at 4300 RPM is really good, especially since it's a 0.86.

Used a 2871 with Jun 256/10,5 cams on an otherwise stock motor, very impressive in a 800kg car.
No Dyno graphs but made 215kw atw at 15psi, messed around with higher boost & e85 with some good results but this is a daily driver & needed to have it super reliable.
I craved a little more power but wanted to stay at 15psi max so I opted for a GTX2976r, as I had no interest in going high on the boost, I ordered it with a 0.63 housing & T04B comp housing, capped it off with a SS bottom mount equil length manifold.
The results were more than exceptable 15psi by 4100rpm, 243kw @ 7100rpm.
I am thinking of maybe doing a cam change to the s4 perhaps or Tomei Pro 260/12 Hyd.

Swapped out the stock exhaust manifold for a jazz manifold and picked up 30hp with the retune.

Has anybody actually installed the AGP 2871r turbine housing that has the Tial MVs external wastegate flange? I have a manifold that I don't really want to modify with a gate. Would love to run the external gate off the turbine housing.

I'm skeptical that it actually clears the strut tower and brake components on LHD? If anyone has photos of the AGP external gate turbine housing installed i'd love to see it.

I picked up a 2871r, first time owning one. Has an HKS actuator already. I'm tempted to try porting the internal gate, but I know nothing will work as good as external.

I assume if i'm using the oem s15 bb restricted banjo bolt in the oil feed line to the block, then I shouldn't use the restrictor fitting on the turbo end?
