did you get lucky and happen to buy a motorset with some nismo goodies???
Looking forward to see how this thing turns out. What kind of timetable are you working with? Any specific deadlines? Or just however long it takes to do it right? |

96turbo: We happened to get a Rb26dett that had been rebuilt. And by looking at it I would say about 300 miles ago. It came with some nismo stuff, and it had a date hand written on the inside of the oil pan 08-20-06 or something around that date.
We are on a schedule with this car. The guidelines of the schedule are to have it done as soon as possible. At 100% quality, sacrificing nothing for any reason. We hope to debut this car at a one of Jr's car shows. urmyhero4now: Lol

Why?? Throwing another 500lbs at a fast car doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

Another update for today.
Since we will be running 350z seats for street practicality we needed to remove the old seat brackets. Jason drilled out all the spot welds, and out they came. Next we started working on the oil pan. I chose to use the Stock Rb26dett oil pan instead of the rb25 one. Yes its alot of work to modify it, but then again its the right thing to for our goal. Benefits of the 26 pan. Its Aluminum so that helps with cooling. It has kick outs. It has better double level baffling and windage trays. And most importantly it is a structural piece of the engine block. Most people use a rb25 pan, but you have to drill out the bolt holes, remove the windage tray, and its stamped steel. Since the 26 pan has a diff attached that is the first thing we will remove using the hypertherm powermax 800 plasma cutter Some pieces are over an inch thick ! Then we chopped off the other sides axle flange on the Jet bandsaw. Here is what we removed. More updates tomorrow.
