Relay clicking sound from under dash

I get it my car tonight to go home and when I have the key turned givig the car 12v this clicking noise starts and it sound like it's under the hvac controls or air bag area it's only on when like I said with the key turned and when it's getting 12v I looked on here and someone said it could have to do with the defroster ? If you have any info how to fix it it would be of great help thanks and I forgot to say it's a 96 s14 with a stock ka

if the click sounds like its coming from the kick panel then it might be the starter and/or clutch interlock relay it happened to me. tap on the starter with something to get the solenoids moving then try and start if it does then its your starter.

stick your head down there while someone else turns the key...

that way youll pin point the clicking.

its definately a relay.

It could also be the mode window motor. When they start to go, and you try to switch from defrost to in the face to feet, itll make a clicking noise as it trys to switch from one setting to another. Try messing around with those settings, see if itll stop on one of them.
