s13 lowering problems
im having trouble getting my s13 slammed. i want it to lay frame on the ground, but i dont know why my car will not allow me to slam it in the front, the rear is ok. i have own two sets of coils now, the first were cusco. i bought shorter springs for it (150mm vs 200mm)and removed 2 collars and maxed it out, that didnt help much, it made the tire even with the fender. sold the cusco's thinking they were the reason and bought some megan tracks since i heard they would lower alot. put the 150mm springs on and now im barely tucking the top of the tire treads. 1 collar removed with 150mm spring should lay some frame on megan tracks right? im thinking now that my car is the problem, but i dont know what is causing it. here are some pics of the megans and the shorter springs.

It looks like he preloaded the springs to the max and maxed the damper out to full extension.
OP do you know how to properly lower a car w/ adjustable lower bracketed coilovers? Don't be embarrassed, there are many fuck tards out there that don't know what the FUCK they are doing and try to lower their car by preloading the springs. |

yeh i know how to preload the springs. moved the collar up til it was snug against the spring, just enough so it wouldnt droop. the spring looks smooshed because its a smaller spring 150mm vs the 200mm.

First of all Megan Tracks don't go that low. My Tein Super Drifts went way lower than my Megans. If you want low coils you should have gotten Stance or PBM.
Secondly, where the heck did you get that spring and what's it rate? It doesn't have anywhere near the travel to deal with suspension travel if you were to hit any sort of fast dip. Lastly, why the FREAK do you want your frame to rub? That's dumb.

i thought the only difference between megan streets and tracks were the dampening and spring rates? so i figure they should lower the same amount.
i dont what my frame to rub, figure of speech. i got a deal on these brand new. i pm'd someone with megan tracks, sent them pics of the coils and my car they way it is shown in the above pics, and their tracks were lower without any collars removed and not maxed out. so i figured maybe something is wrong with my car? i'll just go to an shop and have them inspect it. i looked around and can not find anything. thanks for your help. |

Yeah, I really doubt that there's something wrong with your car.
Seriously Megan tracks don't go that low. I'm speaking from experience here. I had both Megan Tracks and Tein Super Drifts and the super drifts definitely went lower. You're definitely going to have to remove collars.
