apparently these are the more beefy version of what's on my hatch...

The "legs" are thicker, and the round bit is longer.

not exactly. I'd have to shorten the round part at the end of the legs in order for it to fit into the slot

Just take a picture of what you have and compare to OP's picture.

Maybe Nissan realized that the earlier model's version were not beefy enough and changed it (hence all of the people buying them because theirs broke)

my coupe had a manual sunroof, always assumed it was aftermarket tho.

Got mine in today. My 89 hatch came from the factory with a sunroof. The latch I got was for sure on the beefer side. Luckily there is a lot of adjustment you can make so I was able to get mine to fit and it seals the sunroof very well. Im guessing these might have come out of an early model Xterra, fronter or something like that. I prefer the one I received for how much thicker the plastic is. I don't see it cracking any time soon. Thanks again and have a free bump!

Yup, definitely a better version. Just gotta modify the receiver to fit them.

I test fitted 3 of these in the past, (various months spread apart) in a buddy of mines hatch and I didn't have fitment issues.

I'm terribly sorry if all of you guys are having problems w/ your fitment. If anyone is wanting a refund, please don't be shy in asking.

No way! I would highly recommend these latches. They are stout and seal my sunroof perfectly. Over the years Iv had to adjust the stock latch to get any sort of seal, so I think that had to do with that. But it bolts to the sunroof just fine and two spot where it latches to the body fit, I just had to move it around again. Got my car up to 85 last night and no sounds whatsoever came from my sunroof. And you cant beat the price I got it for.
