White Smoke Again.

So step by step this is what me and some friends did. Prior to all of this, white smoke was already puffin out.

-We took out the thermostat to see if overheatin would still continute. Yes it did continue.
-Took the head off and sent it to a machine shop where valve stems were burnt/busted and replaced everything. Including valve gasket and a new head gasket. Threw it all back together and drove out. So new head/valve gaskets, new valve stem seals, repaired stems, new fluids, etc. Everything together now I decided to drive out. Pulled to the side and white smoke starts puffin out the exhaust. Thin, but in mass amounts. Smoke pourin out the exhaust during idle and comes to a dead stop/shuts off at a stop.

Whatelse can it be?

white smoke does not mean turbo, it means coolant. you have coolant leaking into the cylinders somehow. did you use new head bolts? if not, you will have to replace the head gasket again. do a coolant pressure test and check in the cylinders for coolant. start with that. this will cause both overheating and white smoke.

you know you should get your sr blocked decked too since its alum and can warp easily too, coolant could be passing by there and not just the head. was just talking to a buddy of mine the other day about this.

that was the first thing that i thought of too. I keep a straight edge in my tool box just for that check. If i see any light under it. pull block, tear it down and send it off. also copper spray wont hurt on new H/G either.

Head was torqued down to right specs.
Yes we used the right head bolts.
No signs of coolant flowing into different areas where it shouldn't be.
We pulled the turbo out and there was little play with the turbine.

Im gonna try swapping in another turbo this weekend to see if the smoke is eliminated.

pressure testing isnt going to cause white smoke. It is performed with the engine off and it will tell you if there are leaks in your cooling system

also i'd check compression on the cylinders. it'd help tell you if there's a leak in there. but still could be just your turbo. i'd still check the compression.

You haven't hydro locked, so strong possibility that it's your turbo leaking. I would still do a compression check to C.Y.A.

Turbo...should be the first shit to check...If its white smoke, means water. Only 3 ways you get water, turbo fucking up or Headgasket and then the remote chance that your engine is cracked.
