Future Ka-t hopefully

Sup guys so i have a kade with a blown head & i decided to pull the motor and rebuild it, full rebuild not just the head. I want to in the future go Ka-t but for the moment when i do the rebuild i want to run just Kade. But since im rebuilding and having it apart i want to prep it as much as i can for Ka-t later on. Do all i need is just forged pistons , rods & i believe cams and crank? I will be getting ARP bolts/studs. Im planning on reaching atleast 300-400hp no more than that. Any suggestions i can while i have the motor out? I will be getting it machined and resurfaced also the head and block. Any help please would be very appreciated.

I would just rebuild it with new oem head parts, timing chain kit and go with 8.5:1 pistons, rods and bearings get the crank cleaned up and balanced. You have to get it balanced as it isnt fully counter weighted. Metal cosworth HG and a new oem gasket set and new oem studs. With a t3 turbo like a gt3071r you will make easy 350-400hp at the crank and you will be very happy. KA-T.org is a good website to checkout aswell.

Sounds like you have a good plan, Personally i dont think the cams are a must incase your on a budget. But Upgraded cams are always nice.

Personally, i bought a bran new head that was literally an OEM bran new one a guy had just put on his ka24e and crashed it 500 miles later for 300 dollars the whole engine.

I took the bran new head with the block i built and mated them together and they work great. No problems what ever.

May i suggest Arais pistons and Eagle Rods ? I personally have been running them and love em.

Lastly, spend most your time at the machine shop when you get your pistons and rods.
