ignition switch fuse keeps blowing
Basically my car wasnt starting so i tested the starter at autozone and it was bad so i got a new one but before i put it back on i added a few grounds to the chasiss from different places with some gauge 2 wire.
after i put the starter back on and go to start it. it doesnt start when i turn the key and after some time all the accessorys stopped functioning. the windows, radio, electric fans etc. then i checked the fuses and noticed the 30 amp ignition fuse was blown. so i took off the one from the power windows to see if i could atleast get the car to start before i went ahead and bought a new fuse. an as soon as i put in i saw the fuse heat up and blow right in front of me. the whole time the key was in the ignition in the "ON" position. so i took apart the fuse box and i cleaned all the wires but none of them are frayed or damaged or anything. so i looked at the wires under that specific fuse and theres a white wire that goes to a red piece that is screwed in together with the power wire from the battery with two different plugs in it. and it has another white wire that goes into the rest of the harness. any ideas what it could be so i dont have to tear apart the whole harness? thanks and any help is really appreciated im really desperate to find out the solution to this. 93 hatch btw running a ka24de |
