What is a D1 Specs Car?
Guys, I am in the process of buying an RPS 13. The guy says its a highly modified car and it meets the D1 association specs. Any idea what are the D1 specs that he is talking about? I have checked out the car and it is highly modified. It has an Apexi AX Turbo AX53B60. The guy says the car gives about 380 HorsePower. Any comments on the d1 specs would be great.
Yes, I have done the search part and I havent been able to find a specific source about the d1 specs for a car. |

D1 spec. (Drifting)
It is ready to compete in D1 competition. So it must have a proper D1 approved/inspected roll cage. FIA Approved harness. Approved seats and safety equipment. I'm not sure what the full list is but those are just some off the top of my head. |

D1 spec does not mean much in Japan as there are sooo many different D1 classes. Ex: your car can meet D1 Div specs by simply having a full bucket seat, harness, tow hooks, and fire extinguisher.

maybe check the d1 website?
perhaps contact their safety/inspections personnel? or maybe asking a bunch of internet nerds who are in no way directly affiliated with d1 would be the fastest way to get the correct response. /sarcasm. |

Well, I picked up the car now as well. The best part is that the car has rarely been used. Almost all parts are almost brand new or in super mint condition. I had purchased it for parting it out but it seems like I may dispose the car as a whole. Here are a few pics that I got off the Yahoo Auction. I will be putting more pics once I take them

d1 requires door bars on the rollcage.
your car does not have door bars. therefore, NOT d1 legal. |

No, need door bars for D1SL. If it has FULL bucket seat (not reclinable), harness, tow hooks, and fire extinguisher, THEN it could be a D1 Divisional car, which is BELOW D1SL.

For parts, it really is terrific. It seems like the owner died right after completing the car. The Thrash Racing seats are super mint/almost brand new. The manifold and the coilovers are shiny and everything else that he has put inside the car.

Actually, someone in the UK wants the entire car and wanted to know more about the D1 specs of the car. I checked out the D1 website and it doesnt say anything about their own specs. There are tons of parts makers that claim their products to be D1 certified. But I dont see any specifics on the D1 requirements.
If I decide to part it out, you will find out here for sure with the pics of Thrash Racing, Real Red. |

part out would be the last option...absolutely. I remember his sad face saying Thank You and a Good Bye to the car. He was pale but there were smiles all over the face of his wife. She was so excited to the count the 10,000yen bills.
