ka24det turbo issues spools but doesnt pull

i just recently turbo my new ka setup...it runs good besides it dying at idle because my bov isnt recirculated but i did order the kit to do so just waiting on it now... when i punch it the turbo spools and doesnt pull you hear it just spool... when i shift bov goes off... im not blowing any smoke at all.. my vacuum from bov goes to the throttle body and my wastegate vacuum goes to the smic cold pipe nipple, is that correct. also my boost gauge is reading .05 bar its a stock t25 is that right.

Vac lines should be right and .5 bar is about 7psi. I assume you meant that not .05? .05=less than 1 psi

What is the rest of your setup? Injectors? Ecu/tuning? Maf?

this could be a boost leak, if your wastegate is getting its pressure from the intake manifold your turbo will continue to blow as much hot air as it needs untill it reaches the desired pressure. Your blowoff valve could be leaking as well. What bov are you running?

Anyways boost leak is just one possibility.

Also spooling but going no where is a good sign there is not enough timing. This could be your tune, or it could be incorrect base timing.

What are your air fuel ratios?

its running from cold pipe nipple that goes into the intake manifold... im running a hks bov, its open not recirculated ..

its
Up top 14 degrees...

i dunno what my air fuel ratios are yet my wideband isnt hooked up yet...

I got you homie. Ill come over and hook you up on the wideband and well plug in that safc you got sitting... throttle correction bro and plugging up all those vac lines. The waste gate should be tapped into the turbo inlet. The BOV should plug into the throttle body and since its open, it needs to be adjusted for metered air via safc decel function. Your leaking metered air and hence your bogging. Only way open BOV works well is with a MAP setup.

the turbo inlet is the pipe going into the the turbo, and if the wastegate is tapped into that it wont work.........

Im using a hks ssqv and a maf on a tuned stock ecu (tuned by me) on a sr and it works great and I have done many atmospheric bovs with stock ecus and mafs with no trouble. tuning and properly setup setups is everything.

Setups that have problems are when you start throwing all kinds of stuff on un tuned or bench tuned ecus, start throwing safc's in on the mix, and when you dont have widebands to let you know what is actually going on.

My suggestion still is hook up your wideband, check for boost leaks and fix them, and get a real tuning solution such as a custom rom tune or a standalone and leave the safc in the box where it belongs.

sell the safc.
it sounds like a boost leak somewhere.
and i would get away from the stock maf asap also.
but yeah hook up the wiideband and see what the fuel is like and such check the fpr maybe its too low?
idk best of luck.

ok first check your base timing. next wastgate line should be from the hot pipe or nipple on the turbo outlet. but most importantly check you timing and get that wideband hooked up asap.

To me this is personal preference. I prefer to have the wastegate hooked up to plenum pressure.

Shouldn't die while idling because the bov isn't recirc'd... Bov should be closed at idle/ while on throttle. Sounds like your blow off valve is not adjusted with enough spring pressure to keep it closed.
