ThunderDrift 11/8-9
Hiya! TD November is coming your way!!! 11/8-9! Don't miss it! the bigger pad is AWESOME! I HIT 3RD GEAR ON IT!!! YOU CAN TOO!!! I'M NOT A GOOD DRIFTER!!! Details are same as always: $100 per day - pre registered $120 per day - not registered TO PRE REGISTER: send $41.60 (PER DAY) via paypal to [email protected] ...Remember! you'll have to bring the other $60 to the track with you! If you wish to pay the full amount in advance, send $103.80. PASSENGERS ARE $15!!! Refunds on pre-reg money will only be issued if you cancel more than a week in advance. ALSO! Pre-Reg will close on Thursday 11/6 at 11:59PM!!! So, because the ThunderDrift site is down at the moment, I'll refresh your memory of our tech requirements now... JUST for good measure (BTW, the new TD site is only DAYS away from going up) - All lugnuts must be present and tight - Batteries must be tied down with a stock or better system (this means NO duct tape, NO Bungee chords, and NO Zipties). If you have a relocated battery, we suggest you mount it in a marine-style plastic battery box. If you can't put it in a box, you MUST cover the positive terminal. - No Leaks! This means Engine Oil, Gearbox Oil, and Power Steering fluid. A well maintained P/S system won't boil over! - Seats/Belts must be stock or better. - Open-Top cars are allowed with stock or better roll protection - Helmets must be Snell rated M or SA. - Closed Toed shoes are mandatory - Sleeved shirts are mandatory (can be a short sleeved T-shirt, but no tank tops!) ALL THESE TECH REQUIREMENTS ARE ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY! Trust me guys, this is a super easy tech to pass. Ask anyone who auto-xes or races, they'll tell you there's a LOT more stuff that's usually on the list. Gates open at 7:00AM, drivers meeting will be at 9:00AM SHARP! NO EXCEPTIONS! No drivers meeting, no drifting. I suggest you show up early smile.gif Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have! Geoff - 530.559.2554 ~ [email protected] PS. we will be enforcing the no-leaks rule even more now because I got charged money for the cleanup after last event... |

Ohhhh schnap! that will be the day after I receive my first paycheck! haha, I hope I can make it to this, but probably not because I should be saving my money. Still though, I really want to go to this. *crosses fingers*
maybe if a bunch of people roll with me I will be more obligated to go! I'll probably be working both days though now that I think about it and I need to make money, still though, I totally wanna go!!!

Forecast for the weekend is 50% showers on saturday and 20% on sunday. I'm expecting dry, with MAYBE a tiddle here and there.
Drivers meeting will be at 9:00AM sharp! Gates open at 7:00AM I recommend you come at 7:30-7:45. If you miss the drivers meeting you will not be able to drive! We'll be running rain or shine, so don't worry about that... and Saturday evening will be an AWESOME BBQ HOSTED BY KEVIN OF MCE-RACING! If anyone wants Dyno runs, that'll be a great time to do it. Kevin's a really nice guy, a BRILLIANT fabricator, and cares a lot about motorsports enthusiasts (that's why he's throwing us a BBQ ) Oh and of course... TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER. HAVE YOUR PAYPALS SENT IN BY MIDNIGHT TONIGHT! if you don't pre-register in time, come anyway, there's lots of room. Contact me if you have any questions! -G |

I'll vouch for the newb-friendly environment. I've gone previously and Geoff and co have been nothing but friendly.
I was with a few friends and we made the trek from SF, that morning. No big deal. Arrived and while its not a "track medium" the paved area is more than adequate to learn and practice. I even got the car sideways a few times! (stock KA, nothing special) With a safe area that's flat and open -- worst you're going to do is spin out. Considering that they keep the admission/spots low (20 max?), you'll get more than enough seat time out there to do whatever you want. +1 for a reasonable event in NorCal. Sorry, won't be going anytime soon... house prices in the area are nasty but when I finally get a home, this will be back on my "to do" list. -Aaron '91 240sx coupe |

I am a newb at drifting because I never drifted. I been just building motor and been just going to drag races, autox, and I been to Thunder hill once. There are other form of racing beside drifting. I never really go into it but wanted to try it once. My car is being rebuilt, so it will be a while before I get it running (my 7th 240sx)
