Maf sensor on ka24de..
Ok guys maybe this is justme.. but can a maf sensor w/ stand alone ecu or piggyback ecu read boost.. Also.. is there any good way to tune a ka24de turbo w/aftermarket 550cc injectors and no rising rate.. using either a afc or a emanage. i am swaying towards emanage although the afc is on the car already... any suggestions etc...

MAF = Mass Air Flow... reads the flow of air through it. MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure... reads the air pressure inside the intake manifold. NO YOU CANNOT READ BOOST WITH A MAF SENSOR!!!!!!

yeah that is what i thought.. but what i don't understand is..if you take a look at the greddy e-manage. it shows that they have a add on map sensor. but when i spoke with the guy he says that its auxiliary only to the maf sensor.. now how the hell in the world does this work.

MAF is used just like stock,,to meter the air coming in.
The add on MAP can be used to set up a timing table that retards based on intake manifold pressure...say .5 degrees of retard for every one pound of boost. 2 separate functions... - Brian |
