turning LS2 into a LS1 to work on my swap
been searching and at least i haven't found much on how to turn my 2005 GTO M6 to LS1 set up... other than the TB, ECM TB cable i have no idea what else would be necessary, i read that the knock sensors aren't the same and a few other things as well as the injector harness deal.
who has performed this surgery and what was everything you need to do it? |

there's no LS2 harness conversion that i know of other than chasebays.com to which many many people have said that they have had many problems with their harnesses something that i want to avoid as i just got done getting screwed over with jordaninnovations for the last 2 years.
since nobody is currently making a ls2 harness only way to make my LS2 work is to convert to ls1 format meaning DBC TB, LS1 ECM and other minor things to which is what i am asking about? i can try to build my own harness as jordaninnovation stole both my LS2 and S13 harness! the only way i can to get my car running again is to covert LS2 to LS1 configuration or wait until wiringspecialties finish their harness to which is currently in the R&D phase and there's no timetable schedule for delivery. hope that clear most of the things you didn't understand |

dont hold your breath with wiring specialties. your best bet is trying to get your harness back from jordan inovations or wait to find a deal on the harness on ebay and make your own. it took me about a week to make mine for my ls1

I've done this. It's easy. You need 2000 Camaro knock sensors. The block will have to be tapped for the knock sensor thread pitch.TPS and IAC also needed from the same year Camaro. 2000. I used a 411 ecu. And bought the ecu plugs online. The diagram for wiring is very easy to follow

If you buy a pre made ls1 harness you will have to extend the knock sensor wiring because the ls2 KS is on the side of the block. Cam angle wiring will also have to be re pinned at the ecu or the plug. I think that will also have to get extended. And as for injectors, the plugs will have to be changed to ls2 style. But I think that's usually an option when buying a premade harness
