No, the pegs are perfectly fine.  I've sat on plenty of bikes to know that it's height and everything is fine.  The only complaint is the seat, which is damned hard, but you get used to it.  Besides, if it becomes too much of a bother, they make aftermarket seats.

No track bike yet, I want my new street bike first.  I don't have the kind of money to run the RC on the track!  I wish I did though.  My friend and I might go half and half on a track bike when we can afford to.

As for the dying part, it's safe you just have to be a passive aggressive rider.  God forbid, if I were to die, at least I'd go out doing something I love.  It's not the sport of motorcycling that makes it dangerous, it's all the stupid drivers on the road that think they own it that makes it dangerous.  Oh the stories I could tell...and I'm not even THAT experienced of a rider.  I can't imagine how many stories the old timers would have. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

yeah the 32 main things everyone tells me when i say im going to get a bike is, never assume, and always leave room for other peoples stupidity, because you have to take that into account, hey dubble, do you have a bike now?

oh, IMO, i'd loove a gixxer 600 or an R6, i dont think i want a literbike

No bike right now, I sold it. I had a 1995 Ducati 900SS, but maintainence was sooooo expensive on that bike that I had to get rid of it. The plan was to get an RC this summer (right after I sold the Ducati), but since my car got broken into I had to postpone it. That really ate away my money even though my insurance covered most of it, I had to find something to do to occupy 2 months w/o a car!

Anyways, yeah my friend and I will probably end up getting a GSX-R 600 or an R6 or F4 or SOMETHING in that class for track days and then gradually move up as we improve.

Everyone telling you that is smart to never assume is smart (I must have been drunk when I wrote that or something, what I meant to say is everyone was smart telling you to never assume). Stay behind a car as long as you can, and then BE QUICK about your passes, do not ease on by. Go to a good school to learn, they'll teach you everything you need to know really, and the rest will come natural.

Cool. Somehow someone f-ed up my left can on my 00 RC51. Looks like a fat dude was standing on the rear pegs and slipped. I came back out to the parking lot after getting some takeout on my way back from a ride and was like WTF? ugh. Dented stock can, chipped my QB carbon hugger, and a scratch on my rear cowl underneath my seat. Why don't ppl respect other ppl's property? Geez. At least I'm getting my Satos this week. Just have to touch up that scratch and figure out how to patch up that chip in the epoxy. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

BTW, who in their right mind would want a Ducati 999 Aztek for a street bike? That thing is gawdawfully ugly. Maybe with track fairings minus those stupid headlights and the thing would look nice. Why can't they make a bike that resembles their MotoGP Desmosedici bike? That thing is beautiful.

As for the RC51 ergos, they are very comfortable for a bike so dedicated. The seat position is very forward so the reach to the bars is much shorter than on most bikes. This compensates for their low position. The pegs are not nearly as cramped up as you might think. The seat is excellent for carving as it lets you slide your weight around very easily. Also doesn't numb your butt like those barcolounger seats found on other bikes. If your butt is in the same position long enough for the seat to be uncomfortable, you're not using the bike correctly... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

Oh yeah, and the Ducati 999 is FUGLY (fucking ugly)!!!  I don't like it.  It's styling won't last long though I don't think....

Hey what's up man?  No, never sat on a 916, but I have sat on every other Ducati (996, 998 and 998R, as well as the 748).  The riding position is very similar, very aggressive.  Ducati's are soooo uncomfortable though.  My 900ss wasn't bad at all, very comfortable in fact, but their new line of sport bikes (dates back to 1997) have very hard seats and not much room on the bikes to move your ass around (narrow seats).  Gorgeous bikes though and the 916 started it all.

Ahhh yes, how could I forget that the PC3 is out?  Thanks for reminding me.  I probably won't do any after market work to it for a while.  I want to save up for new leathers first (as I don't have a full suit, just a jacket, and I've touched knee a couple times...sux w/o pants leather pants and a knee slider).  Tomorrow I begin my country-wide search for an RC in stock...err rather...later today.

That video was absolutely nuts!!! I loved the guy on the mini-bike that pulled mini wheelies for like less than half a second...lol. Man this is why I don't stunt on a bike, you have to mess up soo many times in order to get good, besides, squids are stupid.

It has nothing to do with the clutch even though the RC51 hydraulic clutch can be a little vague. The thing is that the 51 is geared to the moon. 1st is good for something stupid like 80 so it's pretty easy to stall it if you're not paying attention. Heaven forbid you accidentally leave it in 2nd and try to pull away. It's possible, but only with a LOT of conscious clutch feathering. You can actually use 1st gear for low-speed hairpins.

I've read as high as 88 for first, but more realistically it's in the 70s. I don't know, I usually try not to peg the limiter in 1st. I loved the guy on the mini-bike that pulled mini wheelies for like less than half a second...lol. Man this is why I don't stunt on a bike, you have to mess up soo many times in order to get good, besides, squids are stupid. Join Date: Jul 2002 Location: Reflex Racing, Los Angeles,TX Posts: 1,160 Trader Rating: (0) Feedback Score: 0 reviews	It has nothing to do with the clutch even though the RC51 hydraulic clutch can be a little vague. The thing is that the 51 is geared to the moon. 1st is good for something stupid like 80 so it's pretty easy to stall it if you're not paying attention. Heaven forbid you accidentally leave it in 2nd and try to pull away. It's possible, but only with a LOT of conscious clutch feathering. You can actually use 1st gear for low-speed hairpins.

I've read as high as 88 for first, but more realistically it's in the 70s. I don't know, I usually try not to peg the limiter in 1st. If I do, I'm not paying attention to the speedo even tho it's in my visor at that point. Bad for your health. Kissing tank bad.
