help: washed engine=detereorating parts...

About 2months or so ago I washed my engine down using degreaser. Well, the engine bay is as dry as a desert and hoses, plastic and rubber parts are now cracking. There is no shine at all. What can I spray that will protect all the parts in the engine bay from corroding in the harsh S. Florida weather. Thanks.

Tire dressing? Isn't that flammable? If not, I'll guess I'll give that a shot. Guess I washed it because I'm a clean freak. Haha. Thanks guys.

tire dressing will just cake up dirt now cause its oil based. I did the same with Simple Green, but there really isn't other way around it other then wiping your engine bay down every week.... which is what i do any way :P

You can also use that jar a vaseline that sits on your nightstand for more than just whacking off. It will penetrate the rubber hoses and rejuvinate them the same way you rejuvinate your own hose every night.

just spray it with armor all. i wash my engine bays a couple times a year and then spray it down with armor all. learned that trick from a used car salesman.

they let thier engine bays sit in armor all for a while and then pressure wash it? haha iuno but yeah.

make sure to keep cleaning it with a rag everyonce in a while

After you degrease, rinse everything off, then spray that stuff on and your good to go.

You can get it at Auto Zone as well as other plalces.
