Hood clearance is one of the reasons I haven't got rid of my hood from my VH swap yet. While I'm over the molded cowl look it clears my fuel rail cross over line, NW102 and the 4" tubing with no issues.
I looked into the origin hood when I was VH and most of the vendors I asked said it was about 3/4-1" more clearance than stock. Might not be enough. |

I rather have the oem hood over any aftermarket. Maybe I can get the bodyshop to raise the centre of the hood for more clearance and still keep the factory hood.

I wish I had kept my factory hood tossed it when I moved as the current hood was painted with the car. Problem I have now is if I get a new hood paint matching it etc. |

I'm glad I saw the size issue here.
About how much taller would you say the Fast intake is over stock? Would you happen to know how the LS6 intake compares in size as well? As for the hood clearance, maybe cut out the hood bracing where the intake sits? |

For my car it's not the actual intake manifold it's the 4" throttle body and tubing for the filter that would hit. I'm running A typhoon manifold that's just a wee bit taller than the ls6. The fast appears to be little taller than the ls6 but it's mostly the top portion of the largers TBs that hit. Stock ls6 TB is 85mm I think so it's much more compact than the 102mm units.

Sikky rechecked the header and it is within spec. Must be my 243 heads from a C6 Z06<< my guess. This is how I fixed.

Coolant: Top nipple to over flow tank or to the ground Second one down from the top nipple to the radiator Bottom one is routed to a nipple in the thermostat housing. Not my refiller but it is a Snap On one. |
