![]() Just spent the last 35 mins or so searching to find out what lies under the 98 s14's door panel tweed with no solid info. Found 2 guys who asked the same question and got not response.
I just bought my s14 about 3 weeks ago and sold my s13. S13 tweed sucks as we all know, so I chucked it. I know the s14 tweed isn't as bad by comparison but c’mon, it does somewhat take away from the all black motif going on in the cockpit. Cutting to the chase, s14 owners w/o tweed, what's under the tweed!? I'm guessing vinyl. Is it? |

The S14 door panels are NOTHING like the S13. The fabric does not pull off as easily, and it will leave all the adhesive residue and foam behind when you finally tear it into a hundred pieces removing it. Cover it with an overlay.

when replacing the stock fabric, use simple green and a scrub brush to get the majority of the padding off. If you replace it with a Sparco cloth (which can be purchased directly from them) it has a padded back and will cover well and gives the best black "close to stock" appearance. The Torino fabric (jaquard) hold up really well.
